Are you a landlord who is looking for loss of rent assistance or assistance to make repairs on a property for future rental?

NIFA has such a program to help you at this time. Housing authorities and/or those who provide public assistance do not qualify, but any landlord (including those who provide section 8 assistance) are eligible.

This information is hard to find on the NIFA.org website, but call 402-379-1150 for more information. Your place can be eligible to receive up to $2,500.00 for loss of rent and up to $7,500 for repairs.

Getting closer to our next build. A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday Aug 30th to look at applications and hopefully select a family. We are planning on working with the Wayne State College construction classes for our upcoming build. We will still have need for community volunteers.

Our Story

Wayne Community Housing Development Corporation (WCHDC) provides first-time home- buyer down payment assistance for income eligible households through our Home Purchase/Rehab/Resell program. WCHDC also manages 16 income-eligible apartments. Down payment assistance is available in Burt, Cuming, Dodge, Thurston, Washington and Wayne Counties.

The following is a description of the type of services available:

“WCHDC is a non-profit community housing development organization (CHDO) established for the purpose of increasing the amount of decent, desirable, affordable housing available to low and moderate income families within the City of Wayne and its surrounding area.

Within this general purpose exists a special emphasis and commitment to the development sponsorship and/or ownership of low to moderate income housing and provision of case management, where appropriate , for the benefit of low to moderate income families.
