Hey everyone! Welcome back to a new semester, I hope all of you are doing well with that. We are having our first meeting of the semester coming up soon, most likely next Wednesday 😀We have lots of fun and important topics to cover like the upcoming summit, position availability within YAL, and opinions on the new Star Wars movie!

Hey guys, there's a really great event coming up on March 24th. It's the YAL spring summit in Charlotte NC and It's going to be a blast. This year's speakers haven't been announced yet, but in past years they've hosted speakers such as Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, and Justin Amash. It's just one day and completely free for YAL chapter members! It's a great time of bonding and networking, if you have any questions just message me. (Bailey yates)

The political reference is dated since this is from last year, but it's still fantastic!

'Twas the night before Christmas, and in the YAL house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
A semester was finished, projects complete,
And with 804 chapters, we reached a new feat.

YAL interns were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of liberty danced in their heads.
With students on break, and a lager on tap,
The staff was ready for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn, there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from our beds to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and was blinded by cash.

The moon shined bright on the light-falling snow,
It gave luster to objects located below.
What appeared before me was quite the surprise,
It was ol’ Janet Yellen, with malice in her eyes.

Her sleigh made of dollars, her suit paper bills,
The Fed Chairwoman looked at me, and it gave me the chills.
“You think you’re so clever with your liberty,” she sneered.
“But I’ll inflate and inflate, even more than you’ve feared!”

"Now big banks! Now, cronies! Now, Senate and House!
We’ll make the dollar too weak for even a mouse!”
Her fury was frightening, her power unmatched.
But I knew Mrs. Yellen's plan had a catch.

“Excuse me, Chairwoman,” I quietly said.
“But I have some info which may turn you red.”
“Oh yes, Mr. Maloney?” she answered with glee.
"What could you possibly say that might bother me?”

“YAL members are young, and they are eager too.
They know what they believe, and they don't like you.
With strong donor support and the winds at their backs,
I can assure you they’re planning a coordinated attack.”

“This year they were trained; they're incredibly smart.
They’ve turned liberty activism into a science as well as an art.
They'll volunteer for campaigns to express their strong voices.
And come Election Day, the results will reflect their choices.”

“Our network is strong; don't you know what this means?
Say goodbye and good riddance to your printing machines.
We're building a movement -- and, oh, I’m sure you will care,
A youth army for liberty, big government beware."

Yellen’s jaw quivered, and fear filled her eyes.
She knew I was serious, that we will uncover her lies.
And just then she noticed the snow was starting to stick,
Her paper sleigh was melting; this was the end of her shtick.

“Cliff Maloney!” she yelled, "you have made an enemy of me!
Don’t you dare think this is the last of the Fed that you'll see!”
I smiled and shrugged as I knew what was ahead.
We're gaining momentum to audit the Fed.

But now vacation is sweet, and I believe it's well-earned.
YAL is growing, and there’s so much that we’ve learned.
Next year will be our chance to prove that we're right.
So Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Net Neutrality Is about Government Control of the Internet | Drew Armstrong

In 2015, the Federal Communications Commission passed a set of Internet privacy and net neutrality rules. The rules were then eliminated by Congress two months ago before they ever went into effect. Net neutrality ideologues are lamenting this new action, saying access to the Internet is a right and...
