Well look what we have here. Meet Brisket, he’s a 4 month old #BrusselsGriffon he’s officially a Balooja’s Foundation pup. Why surrendered? He has separation anxiety and unfortunately many people cause this condition with puppies. Here are some key tips with helping our pups against separation anxiety.

▪️Before you leave the house, take your dog for a walk.
▪️No touch, no talk, no eye contact (before leaving)
▪️Say goodbye to your dog long before you leave.
▪️Stay calm and assertive.
▪️Start out small by leaving your dog alone for just five minutes then gradually increase it.
▪️Leave your dog with a good audiobook.

I think when we get pups we just want to snuggle (I’m guilty) but we also have to remind ourselves we have to teach them to be ok when we are gone. So it takes some work, but when you put in the work you have a happy little pup who will be happy to see you leave 😆 and happier to see you get home.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to take some time and thank everyone who donates to our rescue.

During times where we have emergencies or medical a lot more extensive than we have anticipated we are so grateful for YOU.

Just know we appreciate you... the animals get all they need medically because YOU.

We are a small rescue, taking on extremely difficult cases.

Thank you for being part of our team.

As a rescue, we are often left to pick up broken animals. People for whatever the reason surrender the dogs to shelters or abandon them on streets, fields, canyons, or remote areas. The ultimate and unfathomable act of betrayal.

Lucy was found tied up at a park, she had been abandoned by her family. She was taken to SEAACA animal shelter in Downey, CA.

Upon discharge we got her to the vet and did a large amount of diagnostics which included, Radiographs, Ultrasound, blood work, f***l, and we started her on strong meds to help combat anything that was causing her pain. The past couple of days this sweet grandma started to get worse, her breath was bad, but like nothing we’ve smelled before.

We made the decision that with all this ailing dog had going on we would help her cross over to heaven.

Today I talked to her vet. He called with all the results, and we knew without a doubt we were making the right decision.

liver cancer, her blood was toxic, liver values off the charts, gums pale, unable to get comfortable. She also had the huge ruptured tumor on her belly that she chewed up.

We are left to mourn for a dog we wanted so badly to help.

The Patterson family allowed their hearts to break so hers didn’t have too.

This is the reality of rescue, we smile, we cry we struggle to make things like this make sense. How do people allow a beloved animal to suffer so much and then to add insult to injury dump them alone to fend for themselves?

Lucy’s body was failing her, and we made the difficult decision to let her be at peace. It’s still the most difficult part of rescue for me.

Sweet Lucy, we are so sorry you spent one day feeling you weren’t valued, because you were priceless and so sweet.

Fly free with angels now, free of all pain. We love you so much sweet girl. You won, you weren’t a statistic, your life mattered and we will honor your memory by saving another dog in need.

Rest in Peace

Nico ❤️

This boy has reversed in age. When we rescued him from Humane Society of Imperial County we weren’t sure how long he’d be around. Many times senior dogs surrendered to shelters are medical messes. And yes he was a mess, but under the care of his incredible mama, he’s been doing insanely good.

He’s small in stature, huge in heart. He has no problem ignoring you.

I love happy updates ❤️

His heart is full because people cared enough to give him a new life and a new life is exactly what he has.

Love you papa.

Sweet GRANDMA Nala.

She has dementia, but she’s doing as good as we can hope for. Her foster family have been champs with taking care of her needs and that hasn’t been easy. What an incredible gift to give her. Comfort and love, and when she’s confused they are there to help her feel safe.

There’s no guide book here, it’s just human kindness at its finest.

Why we rescue.

Titan was surrendered to us after he contracted parvovirus. This virus is preventable when dogs are vaccinated.

Balooja’s Foundation with Hope For Paws teamed up to save him and give him the chance at the best life.

My good friend Maria Staudenbaur (from school) said she would foster him. Her family did incredible, in fact she kept him in the family. He was adopted by Maria’s brother. He’s healthy and loved and that’s why we rescue. Giving them the opportunity to live wonderful lives with wonderful families.

Updates are the best part of rescue.

Many of you remember Birdie now Roo?

She was a puppy rescued by @hivetsantoyo and @debfeldbloom from the streets of Tijuana, Mexico. She was vetted in Mexico and kept in isolation before making her way to Los Angeles. She’s being adopted by @kameryn_e and living her best life with her big sister to love and protect her.

Thank you,
@withbetsy @puppyluvla @nolasinger @debfeldbloom @hivetsantoyo @jennifer.cola @veterinaryangelsmedicalcenter for helping get her to this healthy place in her life.

Financial Assistance

One of the hardest parts of a cancer diagnosis is the realization that the treatment needed may be to expensive to even be an option.

Granted there are different types of cancer that may best be treated palliatively, but there’s also those kinds that can be treated with Radiation or chemotherapy.

Consult with a veterinarian/Oncologist and see what treatment is the best for your fur-baby.

Below is a list of people/Organizations who in some cases can help.

DONT give up!! Cancer is a brutal diagnosis, takes the wind right from our lungs.

Just know there is help out there. You and your pet aren’t alone.

If you need to hear this - we love you and know the pain so well.

In memory of, Georgie, I will be constantly looking up resources for people who face this reality with their pets.

Today is a special day for one of the biggest blessings @baloojasfoundation has been blessed with.

Today is Debbie Bloom Feldstein ‘s special day. Deb is one of the kindness most compassionate animal advocates I know. Rather it be rebuilding small animal shelters in Tijuana Mexico, or delivering thousands of pounds of ice to shelters during the hottest parts of the year.

Our planet was blessed when Deb was born. Happy Birthday, Deb, May god continue to bless you and your beautiful family.

From our team at Balooja’s Foundation we love you mucho ❤️

Happy Birthday 🎉🎊🎈🎁🎂

Rescue comes with many ups and downs.

Little Lucus was rescued from SEAACA Animal shelter. This little boy had no bottom jaw. Taking care of him would require a special person. And that’s exactly what he got.

This past week he got sick and was rushed to the ER. Tragically he didn’t survive. He was in End Stage heart failure.

We take comfort in knowing he lived far
Longer than any vet thought. I truly believe it’s because of the love he got from his mom, Julie.

Little papa, you were such a special little boy. I know Balooja welcomed you to heaven.

Rest with the angels. We will love you always

PLEASE HELP!! Need a rescue for this adorable pitty!!! Please share around as well when you get a free sec! ❤ Hey everyone!! I have a Super sweet and lovable dog that really needs rescuing and safety from being put down by the shelter.
PLEASE HELP RESCUE this sweet good dog ASAP! VAN NUYS, CA EAST VALLEY SHELTER ( ID: #A1947920 ).
Me and my family adopted this beautiful pitty about 2 weeks ago. His name is Hercules and is about 3 yrs old. He is such a happy friendly looking pup that loves to play and is very good on walks! Unfortunately we had to give him up (On 8/9/20) as my parents are not as strong enough as they used to be to train and give him the attention he needs. We recently lost our red nose pitty of 13 years and were just devastated and hoped to get a new pit as a much needed distraction.
There was just a misunderstanding. He growled a couple times and went to snap at my father. However my mother accidentally tried to get attached to him a bit too quickly and smothered him with hugs and kisses near the face and our dog wasnt comfortable or broken in our family yet. We have been training him too hard we found out right out of rescuing him and it was just too much stimulus all at once. For that reason we had to surrender our dog because my mother is now fearful of him but I feel it was just a misunderstanding. I understand her POV at the same time. I know he is a great pup! We deduced that he does not like to have two arms wrap around him for a hug. One arm hugs, pats on the head and petting his body he loves though. He could have been treated badly by previous owners. However he is so happy and loves attention from people and does NOT react aggressively to other dogs seen on walks. We believe that he just needs more attention with a rescue or someone who is way more experience at taking care of pits than we are.
PLEASE, he is such a great dog and it saddened me so much to have to surrender him back to the shelter. I don’t want him to be killed by the shelter and am begging anyone who knows someone/rescue who can take him in and give this happy pup the life he deserves! He is smart and has a friendly predisposition!
