BW NICE- Monroe County PA

BW NICE- Monroe County PA Business Women Networking Involving Charity and Education BW NICE, Business Women Networking Involving Charity & Education, is a unique women’s networking organization that provides women at all stages of business and personal life with support, education, and resources.
(5)

We see value in the balance of business networking and charitable outreach. You don’t have to be a member to participate and we welcome all women! BW NICE encompasses three elements: Networking – build a network of professional women providing an atmosphere that is supportive, educational, and dynamic so women will make meaningful connections, learn tips and techniques for new ways to succeed, foster an empowering environment, and leave each event motivated. Education – provide women with the necessary tools and training to enhance and build core competencies and skills. Foster a creative and motivating environment to help all women strive for and achieve their goals. Charity – raise funds and awareness supporting local organizations in the fight against domestic violence. Proceeds from our flagship charity event, The Red Shoe™ , will support the immediate needs of women and children in local safe and transition housing and help them gain dignity for a new and better life. Our philosophy is welcoming and non-competitive. We do not have attendance or participation requirements, there are no forced referrals, and we do not have a policy against membership with other networking organizations. Instead, we encourage members to enhance their networking abilities, foster meaningful partnerships with others, and help one another grow and prosper. We are a group of women who want to do more than merely exchange business cards. We were founded out of someone’s personal story and we want to be an integral part of others’ stories, too.

Mission: BW NICE, Business Women Networking Involving Charity & Education, provides women at all stages of business and personal life with support, education and resources. We see value in the balance of business networking and charitable outreach. We bring women together to gain meaningful business connections, learn new ways to succeed, and foster an empowering environment. Each BW NICE chapter raises funds and awareness supporting a local organization in the fight against domestic violence.

NCADV | National Coalition Against Domestic Violence

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Our charity partner, Women's Resources of Monroe County, is requesting that we all do one thing this October to speak up, support survivors, and take care of ourselves and others.

Here are some National Statistics to review:

NCADV is the voice of victims and survivors. We are the catalyst for changing society to have zero tolerance for domestic violence. We do this by affecting public policy, increasing understanding of the impact of domestic violence, and providing programs and education that drive that change.

Ladies, PLEASE be mindful and careful with ALL of your email addresses, account information, etc. Three different women have contacted me, advising me that one of my email addresses may have been hacked. Here's what's being said from a woman who apparently got my information from BW NICE- Monroe County PA: "I'm in the middle of something, rounding up some projects in a meeting and I want you to please help me purchase some Steam Wallet gift cards at a nearby store I'll reimburse you later when through today. Get back to me if you can me purchase them.. I'll call you later after the meeting. Thanks Diane Antley" To know me is to know THIS IS NOT ME. This is not my style or the way I conduct business. So, if you come across anything like this from someone portraying to be me, know that it isn't me.
The Monroe County Women's Commission is accepting nominations!! The Monroe County Women’s Commission follows the National Women’s History Project for the History Month theme, and for 2020, the Theme is Valiant Women of the Vote : celebrates the women who have fought for woman’s right to vote in the United States. In recognition of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, we will honor women from the original suffrage movement as well as 20th and 21st century women who have continued the struggle (fighting against poll taxes, literacy tests, voter roll purges, and other more contemporary forms of voter suppression) to ensure voting rights for all. We encourage you to nominate someone today! Your nominee’s contributions should be of local significance within Monroe County and should amount to more than a single act or accomplishment. We encourage nominations of women from diverse backgrounds. You may submit nominations by emailing [email protected] or sending a message here: Past Monroe County Honorees will not be considered. Name of Nominee Occupation or field of achievement Cultural or ethnic identity Please include nominee’s contact information Address _ Phone Number Email In 2-3 sentences explain the nature of your nominee’s work and accomplishments. Do your nominee’s accomplishments/contributions have a positive impact on the lives of women? (Limit your response to 2-3 sentences) Write a short essay (about 300 words or so) expressing how your nominee’s work and life exemplifies the theme of Valiant Women of the Vote. Please attach your essay as a word document and email to [email protected] or message us here by 2/7/20
