Community Empowerment

Community Empowerment Planting the S.E.E.D. that Grows Strong Communities
Community Empowerment Northern Virginia is constantly seeking to achieve the following:

• Supporting families in their goal toward self-sufficient, successful lives by supplying vital resources and providing them with a sense of community
• Educating community members through the implementation of workshops, programs, and more
• Empowering families toward the discovery of their true potential
• Developing community services which complement and refine existing assistive services in the area

In 2014, Jacqueline Phan, founded Community Empowerment NV, a non-profit organization. After having observed first-hand the impact of a declining school system, dwindling community resources, and crippling unemployment rates, Jacqueline decided to act. Central to the CENV philosophy is the belief that when one plants a S.E.E.D., strong communities will grow. To facilitate this movement, CENV offers one-to-one mentoring, tutoring, adult education workshops, support for teen parents, leadership training, and much more. These services empower personal growth, support academic success and educate people toward developing self-sufficiency. Our goal is to connect those who need a helping hand with those willing to offer one.

Mission: SUPPORT • EDUCATE • EMPOWER • DEVELOP

Plant a Seed of Hope for Struggling Families

Thousands of the Northern Virginia community members we serve work tirelessly trying to take care of their families. They are stressed to make ends meet and often struggle to pay for our low-cost services consistently. These funds, in addition to donations, and sponsorships are essential to the growth and success of our organization, Community Empowerment of Northern Virginia (CENV).

Our goal is to raise $5,000 for the month of April and we are reaching out for your help!

CENV is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of low-income families, single moms, and at-risk youth of Northern Virginia. We understand the struggles of the families that poverty has found. We know they just need a helping hand. We do not give up on them.

All donations will be contributed to our “Plant a Seed of Hope for Struggling Families” campaign. Any donation amount will help make an impact.

Visit our GoFundMe page to learn more, support our cause, and empower CENV to continue being a helping hand!

Child Suspension Program:

Is your child facing suspension from school? If so, consider signing your child up for Bright Future Outreach’s (BFO) Child Suspension Program. We offer a full day program for children where we will provide your child with a constructive environment led by a registered behavioral technician. This is an enrichment program designed to turn what is likely a frustrating situation into a positive experience. During the program, children1st -9th grade will receive tutoring and homework assistance and complete any classwork they will miss during the suspension period. Lastly, children engage in activities designed to address why the suspension occurred and discuss ways to avoid suspensions in the future.

Rate: Call for fees (includes lunch and transportation to after school program or home)
Time: 7am until the time at which your child's school day normally ends.

Please contact us at 703.894.8897 for additional information and to schedule your child for our program.
