Urgent action is needed! Contact your Senator!

Please reach out this week to your Senate offices using the message below, asking for pharmacists to be included in the next COVID-19 package and include the attached one-pager with the details of the reimbursement ask. Your voice as constituents and representatives of a state association is powerful in Senate offices. If you do not have a current contact in your Senate office, we have attached a list of their office, name, and emails.

Sample Email Language – feel free to customize:

Dear Senator ###x
My name is ###x with [Current Position/Health System, city, state], I am writing to ask that you consider supporting language in the upcoming COVID-19 legislative package to increase access to testing, immunizations, and other services associated with the pandemic response by granting temporary pharmacist Medicare provider status for COVID-19, flu, and respiratory syncytial virus services. Support of this language in the upcoming COVID legislation would greatly enhance the ability of pharmacists to enhance patient care during this pandemic, and we urge you to take action. Attached is a one-pager for your review which describes our position on this issue. If you have any questions, I would be happy to speak to you.

If you are able to, in addition to emailing staffers, we encourage you to set up a meeting. If you plan to set up a meeting, please let Doug Huynh, Director, Federal Legislative Affairs, at [email protected] so ASHP can properly track contacts.

If you have any questions, please contact Doug Huynh.

Thank you so much for your assistance in this important legislative outreach!

KCHP/MSHP: 2020 Spring Meeting has been Postponed

SPRING MEETING UPDATE: After careful consideration of the risks posed by holding a live conference during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kansas Council of Health-System Pharmacy (KCHP) and Missouri Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) have made the difficult decision to look for alternatives to holding the 2020 Spring Meeting in Overland Park, KS, scheduled to take place April 3-4, 2020.

Our decision was not taken lightly. We have had several meetings over the past two weeks to discuss options that will still meet the needs of our membership. We are already investigating the ability to hold the Spring Meeting as a virtual event. This will allow us to induct our incoming board members, present posters virtually, secure foundation support, recognize award winners, and deliver high-quality educational content from the 2020 Spring Meeting directly to you. This may require us to move the date to allow time for coordination. Look for more details to come out soon.
