Blue Ridge Cherry Valley Rod & Gun Club

Blue Ridge Cherry Valley Rod & Gun Club Established in 1874 The purpose of BRCV is to promote better sportsmanship, aid in the propagation and conservation of wildlife. Blue Ridge Cherry Valley Rod & Gun Club (BRCV) was established at the end of the Civil War.

It was Chartered in 1874 and we believe BRCV to be the oldest gun club in the United States. Three years after the founding of the National Rifle Association. BRCV was incorporated in 1992. BRCV is supported in part by the NRA which requires all members to be members of the NRA. For all new members we require they take the NRA Basic Pistol course, this will ensure all members are familiar with the safety guidelines set forth by the NRA and will also familiarize new members with all types of firearms. BRCV hosts International Pistol Defense Association Matches (IDPA) each month along with working with the local community like sponsoring Boy Scout Air Pistol& Rifle matches. BRCV also works with the Boy Scouts to promote firearm safety and gives firearms safety classes to new enthusiasts in the scouts. BRCV is a members only club, for membership details please go to our website at for your inquiries.

Blue Ridge Cherry Valley Rod and Gun Club

To All Members

Our club is now being reviewed by old and current members, these review are not positive ones. People are now voicing their opinions based on how our club membership acts towards one another. We are posting a review for all to read.

This is a warning to all those who wish to join Blue Ridge Cherry Valley Gun Club, it is being monopolized by a group that I will call the “70’s club”, which is a group of older men (over 70 years of age, lifetime members) who are disrespectful, narrow minded individuals who truly believe, they are…

New fence is on its way...should be here next week......stone was placed around the trap sidewalk.....gutters on clubhouse are all cleaned out......mirror is installed on upper driveway.....and nick can now run the kubota to help keep up with the grass

" Note: This is an exact transcript of National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster, and US Army General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

Woman Radio Host: "So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?"

General Reinwald: "We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting."

Woman Radio Host: "Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?"

General Reinwald: "I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range."

Woman Radio Host: "Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?"

General Reinwald: "I don't see how, "We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm."

Woman Radio Host: "But you're equipping them to become violent killers."

General Reinwald: "Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?"

The radio went silent and the interview ended."

Recently, the governor of Virginia vetoed legislation that would have allowed victims of domestic violence to carry concealed without a permit for 45 days. But stripping women of their ability to defend themselves with a firearm doesn't make them safer - it makes them more vulnerable.

To our membership

Last year our club Vice President petitioned the NRA for a grant to fix the fence. It is our pleasure to announce that the NRA has granted our club $1850 to be used towards fixing the fence. This money must be used in a timely manner to fix the fence. This is great news for our club and the BOG believes great things will happen this year.

National concealed carry reciprocity would allow law-abiding concealed carry permit holders to travel across state lines without worrying about becoming inadvertent criminals.

The NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) applauds the introduction of S. 446, The Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, sponsored by Senator John Cornyn (TX). It's time to fix the patchwork of laws that can ensnare even the most law-abiding and well-meaning gun owners!
