PVEN Food Pantry

PVEN Food Pantry The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network is a network of individuals and area churches joining together to meet the food and clothing needs of their community.
(3)

PVEN makes a difference in the lives of the people who are served and the community in which we live. When someone is helped with their physical needs, they can then focus on improving the quality of their whole life. The help from PVEN allows the recipients to pursue emotional, social, educational, or spiritual goals with less worry about how physical needs will be met. Those served become independent, self-sufficient, and better citizens. Dignity is restored.

Mission: Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network’s mission is to provide low income families and families in crisis the essentials to maintain a dignified standard of living while encouraging independence and self-sufficiency. PVEN provides free clothing, groceries and social service referrals to residents of Chestnuthill, Eldred, Hamilton, Jackson, Ross and Polk townships in Monroe County, PA.

Please share this message on your FB wall and let non-computer friends know too

There are three major food pantries in Southern Monroe, and all three plan to have extra food available this winter. They all are open all year ‘round for whenever you need them.
Most require some sort of application before visiting, or during the first visit.

Check the table below to see their general income requirements.

You may visit more than one pantry, although the pantries ask that you only visit once per month.

If you live in Chestnuthill, Eldred, Hamilton, Jackson, Polk or Ross townships, please include PVEN as one of the pantries you visit. We have a good supply of food, drive-thru service, and let you set up a time slot for distribution so you don’t have to wait in long lines.

State to soon start accepting LIHEAP applications

Cold weather is rolling in and that means an increase in heating costs. PPL’s LIHEAP program helps low-income homeowners and renters pay home heating bills. We will have a representative from PPL at all of our distributions in the month of November to share some information about this great program and answer any questions.

Pennsylvanians can start applying for help to pay for home heating on November 2 through April 9, 2021.

Our Story

The center makes a difference in the lives of the people who are served and the community in which we live. When someone is helped with their physical needs, they can then focus on improving the quality of their whole life. The help form PVEN allows the recipients to pursue emotional, social, educational, or spiritual goals with less worry about how physical needs will be met. Those served become independent, self-sufficient, and better citizens. Dignity is restored.
