General information

WELCOME TO TIME SIFTERS! Time Sifters was formed in 1986 and dedicated to preservation, education, and research. Since its inception, the society has assisted trained archaeologists in major Calusa Indian digs, participated in creating the unique 'Window to the Past' exhibit at Historic Spanish Point, sponsored and/or participated in outreach programs "Trail of the Lost Tribes" and "Looking for Angola", and provided significant support contributing to the preservation of local archaeological resources. Each year, Time Sifters has also sponsored monthly lectures on archaeological topics, all of which are open to the public without charge.

On the fifth anniversary, the yahrzeit: From February 5, 2016 ...Alfonz Lengyel was a kind man, in his early 80s at the time; he always asked about the children, always had a good word to say. He passed away at the age of 94. The photograph is from January 2013, where Dr. Lengyel was watching the excavations by the Manatee Mineral Spring.
