National Trust for Our Wounded

National Trust for Our Wounded The National Trust for Our Wounded ("NTW") is dedicated to assisting America’s Wounded and First Responders and their families.
The mission of the National Trust for Our Wounded (NTW) is to bring order, transparency and more funding to improve the quality and availability of services needed by those injured serving our country – our Wounded Veterans and First Responders. The Problem: The status quo is not sufficient. Government programs are limited and many 501(c)3 nonprofits are ineffective or have excessive overhead. Other well-meaning nonprofits are severely under-funded or currently are unable to service all the geographic areas necessary. This means the most rural areas and small towns where many of our Veterans live are left out. America’s Wounded need NTW’s help to secure funding to meet their most vital needs. Corporations and donors are not sure which 501s to give to and when they donate, if their donations are really used to help our Wounded.

Senate MilCon/VA Appropriations Markup: On Thursday, the Senate Committee on Appropriations held a markup of its version of the MilCon/VA appropriations bill for fiscal year 2016. The bill includes $69.2 billion for VA’s discretionary accounts, which is $500 million more than the House’s version, but nearly $1 billion short of VA’s request. It includes $63.3 billion in advance appropriations for VA’s medical care accounts for FY 2017. As this bill moves to full Senate consideration and conference, VFW’s National Legislative Service will work with Senate and House leadership to ensure Congress appropriates VA the resources it needs provide veterans the benefits and services they have earned and deserve. Stay tuned to the Action Corps Weekly as this bill moves through Congress. To listen to the markup or read more, visit:

VA to change 40-mile rule for Veterans Choice program

Interesting. This issue was only recently brought up a few weeks ago by the VFW. Good job VFW

The original rule said veterans had to live at least 40 miles in a straight shot from the nearest VA clinic to qualify Veterans Choice. Now the agency will measure the distance in driving miles instead.
