The mission of RYA is to provide an opportunity for children of Reston and the surrounding areas to participate in an organized youth football program.
Hey all you Seahawk fans!!!
The governing organization for Fairfax County Youth Football (FCYFL) will be meeting to have a final answer on the upcoming tackle season on August 10th.
Once we receive word on whether or not the tackle season is going to happen, be delayed or cancelled an email will be sent to all tackle families with that decision.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at [email protected].
Thank you and Go Seahawks! 💙💚

We are so grateful for your support. We are looking for some additional help with something. Currently, we have worked and reworked our Drive-thru Operations-and reworked, and rewor........ In any event, we have mastered our speed to a point that we are one of the fastest drive-thru operations in the DC Area.
Our problem is that we are so fast, currently 1:23 minutes per transaction with an overall average of 3:40 minutes for the entire day. We just keep running out of cars so we cannot create a pressure on the drive-thru staff to sharpen their skills. We are asking that you come through our drive-thru on this Wednesday (7/22) between 12 PM and 2 PM to help us stress the team. They know you are coming so they will be ready.
We will send you a free dessert for scanning your app (You must scan the app) and helping us out. Thank you so much for choosing us and we are honored to have you as one of our guests.
We are looking for organizations or causes in our area that may need some help right now. Whether that be with sharing information or something more hands on we’d like to know about it.
Please feel free to post links or names in the comments.
We hope you are all safe and healthy. Thank you and take care.

Registration for the fall football season has been open for a few weeks and we’ve noticed the registration numbers are on the low to medium side.
So we wanted to ask what is going into your decision whether to register or not. We also wanted to know what we could do to ease any concerns you may have whether it’s about COVID-19 or the sport itself.
Please share your thoughts and feelings in the comments or feel free to send a direct message.
Thank you in advance.

Dear RYA Tackle Families,
We hope everyone is doing well during these difficult times. I know we miss all our youth sports!
We are preparing to open tackle registration in the very near future! Once open, please register your child but DO NOT pay the registration fee right now. While we are still unsure if a fall tackle season will happen, we want to be prepared either way.
Assuming the season goes forward, we will collect registration payments as we hand out equipment later this summer.
Once registration is officially open, we will send out an email to announce it.
Thank you all and GO SEAHAWKS!
Dear RYA Families,
I hope everyone is continuing to stay safe.
We are still waiting for additional information from FCPS, FCYFL and the Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services as it relates to our ability to participate in sports this fall.
Registration has not been opened yet but it will be opened as soon as we get the green light.
We are fully preparing ourselves as if we will have sports but we want to know your thoughts on the situation.
What concerns and questions do you have pertaining to returning to play?

The Be AMYazing! Reston Youth Triathlon was inspired by Amy Boyle and her “never give up” attitude, and that is why we have decided to proceed with the triathlon this year but with a twist! While we won’t be able to hold the triathlon in person this year, like many things these days, we will be doing it virtually with the Be AMYazing! 2020 Virtual Duathlon.

What does a Virtual Race mean?
Instead of a triathlon we will be holding a virtual duathlon where racers will complete a run-bike-run. Parents will determine where their children will complete the race and set-up the course according to the distances on our website. Racers will choose their own day and time to complete the race, but it must be completed sometime between May 10th and 17th and then share a finish line photo or report your times on this Facebook Event page. We will provide a race shirt, medal, and 10th anniversary commemorative headband to registered racers that will be distributed at a later party date.
--New 15 to 18 year-old age group
--New Family Relay Team category that is open to any age
Registration fee will be $40 (same as early bird) for individuals and $60 for Family Relay Team.
We will provide:
--A Design-Your-Own Race Bib
--Information on social media (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) and in our newsletter on weekly challenges and training goals.
--Weekly raffle drawings
--Racer shirt, medal and 10th commemorative anniversary headband to be provided at a later party
The duathlon course segments are detailed on our webpage under Event Info, http://www.restonyouthtri.org Parents will determine where the racers will complete the course. For each of the 3 segments, Run-Bike-Run, the racer can decide if they want to complete the distance or the time duration. Visit our website, http://www.restonyouthtri.org for more course details.
Come run Reston Youth Triathlon on May 10 with me.

Kids have a lot of energy during the day? Don't want them playing video games or watching other people play video games all day long? Try At Home PE. You can get into the fun as well. Because it's important to stay active.

💙IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT SPRING 2020💚
On Monday, Governor Northam decided to close all Virginia schools for the remainder of the school year. Unfortunately, that means all extracurricular programs, athletic programs, and community use activities are canceled through the remainder of the academic year, as well. We regretfully will have to comply with this directive and cancel our spring sports, including flag football and cheer programs. We ask for your patience as we process refunds. We anticipate all refund checks will be mailed in the next 14 business days.
As always, we appreciate your commitment to the organization and your patience in this unprecedent time. Our spring programs are our largest, so we will need everyone’s help to ensure we are able to have fall sports. Donations are always welcome. Be safe, follow the CDC’s guidance, and we look forward to seeing everyone shortly.
The safety and health of our student-athletes is our number one priority. We take our
guidance from FCPS, so all activities (including Saturday’s Flag assessments) are
cancelled until April 12, 2020.
Hopefully, after April 12th, we will pick the seasons up where we left off. As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding. The plan is to push the schedule back accordingly, but we will reevaluate after April 12th, if necessary.
We will continue to follow the guidance of FCPS and other professional entities as we closely monitor the situation. We are advising all our families to follow the guidelines set by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Virginia Department of Health, and the Fairfax County Health Department.
It is our hope that we will be able to resume our spring seasons and provide our families
with an exciting, fun season of Flag Football and Cheer that you have come to expect
General Items as Provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
1. Practice good hygiene and frequently wash your hands. Encourage your friends and
family to do the same.
2. Avoid contact with people who are sick.
3. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
5. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surface
Stay safe and we will see you soon,
Coach Mike and honoree Jacob Kyger at this weekend’s Northern Virginia Football Hall of Fame banquet.
Our flag football assessment for ages 5-8 is under way.
Ages 9-11 begins at 10:15am.
Flag Assessments will be held on Saturday, March 7 and March 14 at Langston Hughes Middle School Turf Field.
All players must attend at least one skill assessment. The schedule for tomorrow is as shown below.
Can’t wait to see everyone. We are very excited to get things going for this season.
