National Wildlife Federation, North American Association for Environmental Education Advocate Utilizing Outdoor Classrooms for School Reopening

Thought we would share this new school reopening guide NWF just co-authored with NAAEE. Government agencies (federal, state and local) will be spending more than $120 billion in the coming months in an effort to open schools safely... but they are not paying nearly enough attention to how outdoor classroom spaces can make all of that safer while offering the kids improved health and science education opportunities. It is a win-win and really cost-effective way to add to any reopening strategies. Not a new idea -- outdoor classrooms were used extensively across the U.S. 100 years ago during the national Tuberculosis epidemic.

The National Wildlife Federation and the North American Association for Environmental Education have compiled helpful source information, design ideas and policy advocacy tips that can be used by parents, teachers, civic organizations and others.
