During our lockdown, the Center for Young Children in College Park Maryland, made a CyberGreen website with weekly activities and information for families. Each week was a different focus. This site is connected to the site we use to document activities that will be used to apply to the Maryland Green School and Eco-School USA awards. We used Google sites.
Plastic Free Christmas is great place to swap tips and share ideas about reducing plastic consumption over Christmas. https://www.facebook.com/groups/PFChristmas/?ref=share
We are in such a sea of turmoil right now. If you’re looking for kids’ books that find slices of simple joy and comfort in everyday life, consider H Is For Haiku by Sydell Rosenberg (my teacher mom) and Sawsan Chalabi. I wrote the intro. Each piquant poem is like a story in miniature. The National Council for the Teachers of English honored it as a Notable Poetry Book last year. Thanks to author and journalist Cara Stevens for featuring us in her lovely Medium column, “Bookishly Yours.”

Hi, I'm trying to start momentum with encouraging people to reduce their plastic purchases at Christmas. "Plastic free Christmas". Getting people to discuss it, eco groups, religious groups, everyone. it'll be a hurculean task to change the way we shop at Christmas. Make plastic free Christmas a concept people will want to buy into. Thought I'd try to get the ball rolling. Start saying the phrase "Plastic free Christmas". It might create its own momentum. We can't stop people producing plastic, but we can stop buying it. In tech, in trainers and sports wear and plastic toys. The big sellers at Christmas. I'm expecting a lot of opposition. What do you think? Can you help? https://www.facebook.com/groups/444991182746638/
