Hi, I'm trying to start momentum with encouraging people to reduce their plastic purchases at Christmas. "Plastic free Christmas". Getting people to discuss it, eco groups, religious groups, everyone. it'll be a hurculean task to change the way we shop at Christmas. Make plastic free Christmas a concept people will want to buy into. Thought I'd try to get the ball rolling. Start saying the phrase "Plastic free Christmas". It might create its own momentum. We can't stop people producing plastic, but we can stop buying it. In tech, in trainers and sports wear and plastic toys. The big sellers at Christmas. I'm expecting a lot of opposition. What do you think? Can you help? https://www.facebook.com/groups/444991182746638/

Summer is here. How about combining poetry with the outdoors? Do a haiku “ginko” or walk: children can play, wander, observe, and explore as a group, then write haiku poems based on their sensory experiences. Haiku are about slowing down and making small moments in our daily lives big! There are a number of delightful haiku kids’ books for sharing this brief but expansive form. H Is For Haiku, by my mother, teacher and poet, Sydell Rosenberg, was honored by the National Council for Teachers of English as a 2019 “Notable Poetry Book.” Libraries and schools can purchase it through Penny Candy Books. And of course, it’s available on Amazon, in bookstores, etc. Have a haiku summer, filled with bits of magic!
