It's Community Foundation Week!

Community foundations across the country have mobilized more than $1 billion to support on-the-ground nonprofit programs offering critical lifelines of support to our neighbors in need in the face of COVID-19.

In our state, we were honored to launch our North Carolina Healing Communities Fund to respond to nonprofit needs across the state stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more about our fund here: https://www.nccommunityfoundation.org/news/north-carolina-community-foundation-launches-north-carolina-healing-communities-fund-in-response-to-covid-19

Donors and fundholders deserve special recognition during Community Foundation Week. These generous philanthropists have stepped up repeatedly to help with impacts from COVID-19, to advance racial equity and respond to needs large and small.

The North Carolina Community Foundation heard that Jere Snyder and I were making a documentary about the catastrophic floods that followed Hurricanes Matthew and Florence. Then the foundation made a generous grant to our non-profit to ensure that the work was completed. For that, we are eternally grateful. Please watch it at 10 p.m. Thursday, July 9, on UNC-TV.
