We create jobs for the community and offer opportunities for volunteers to become involved in our ministry. You can help by donating your new and gently used items to help stock our shelves. Or you can shop in our store to find great deals on quality discounted merchandise. The revenue generated through the sale of donated items is used to support the critical lifesaving programs of Raleigh Rescue Mission, which provides men, women and children with hunger relief, emergency and long-term shelter, medical services, recovery and rehabilitation services, housing locator assistance, vocational training and so much more.

I want start off by saying that I appreciate your efforts to help the community and continuous work. I can say hands down that you guys are my favorite thrift store in the area. I frequent it very often yes even on non sale days! This past weekend I went to the $5 Bag Sale. I was with my husband as usual but this time I brought my brother and his fiancée along to check you guys out. We got there around 8:45am and waited on the line, when your employees/volunteers opened the door it was complete mayhem. People from behind us pushed and people rushed to the clothes aisles and cleared entire racks without hesitation very aggressively. I'm pretty sure people stake out the store the day before and know where they put certain items so they can clear entire racks. It's not my business whether people are getting clothes to resale but they need to be more considerate of others that really need the clothes for job interviews, kids school clothes etc. I'm happy that this is such a successful sale for you guys because I know every dollar helps. But there needs to be some sort of tweaking done for this particular sale. I know others will roll their eyes at my suggestions but I feel for a safety reason suggestions may need to be considered. And it's safety for your staff and customers, I spoke with an older woman when all the pushing was going on and she said she simply just wanted to look for some nice clothes and wasn't expecting all the aggressiveness. So my suggestion is maybe you can limit the amount of bags people can have. I know this won't entirely stop the aggressive behavior but maybe it will lessen it. ALSO, there needs to be a sign on the door before the store opens saying something along the lines of "We appreciate you supporting our mission to help our community, let's do our best to make this a fun, safe and polite environment. Happy Shopping!" Also, tell the staff when they open the door to remind people of this especially for their safety because they could have been trampled. I don't go Black Friday shopping for this very reason because I don't understand being aggressive over materialistic things. I've been thrifting since I was a little girl and love supporting causes that help those in need. Once again, thank you for all your efforts. PS. please don't stop this sale but please make sure its a safer environment!
