Calvin's Paws

Calvin's Paws Calvin's Paws is a 501(c) (3) rescue. We work through a network of foster homes throughout the Triangle area to save homeless cats. Calvin's Paws works through a foster network throughout the Triangle area to save homeless cats.
(46)

We are a dedicated group of volunteers with common goals: rescuing animals, finding the best fitting homes for each animal, and educating the public on animal health and responsible pet ownership. We are one of the few groups that will accept FIV+ into the program, and provide education and support for owners and finders of FIV or FeLV+ cats.

Mission: Through rescue and education, Calvin's Paws promotes the adoption of cats, including seniors, disabled and those with special needs while providing leadership to facilitate NO KILL communities.

We give thanks to all our donors who send us food, supplies, and donations throughout the year. Rescue is expensive work and we cannot do it without community support. We are grateful for every dollar, every bag of food left on a doorstep, every text message that starts with, "Can the cats use this?"

We love you all and appreciate you more. Thank you for helping us help the cats!

We are thankful for kittens with Itty bitty toe beans.

**COURTESY POST**
These cats are NOT with Calvin's Paws. If you are interested in giving these any of these babies a forever home, emails can be sent to [email protected].

Linus and Lucy just turned 9 years old. They are born of a feral mama who could not be an inside cat, and so they were born in a barn. All of their siblings were outside cats. They’ve all been indoor and outdoor and would do well as either. Even a life as barn cats would be better than having to be isolated like they do here.

They are both large (vet thinks a Maine Coon mix). They were both spayed & neutered at the Pitt County spay program (Spay Today). All of their shots and vet records are there or with Dr. Richmond Vet Outpatient Clinic.

Linus thinks he’s in charge, since he’s also the biggest. He is mostly white with black spots and a raccoon/striped tail. He’s very lovey. His favorite spot to be pet is his head. He is prone to UTI’s so we add in wet food for him.

Lucy is actually in charge. She’s mostly white with black and orange spots. She doesn’t get along with Olive (the other cat). She wants lovings on her terms, but is very sweet when you’re the person she likes.

Olive was a stray kitten found in August 2013. We don’t know much about her past. She is much smaller than the other two. She is mostly a tabby- looking cat with a white collar. She would prefer to be by herself or with her and the dogs. Kind of aloof, but is a lap kitty once she warms up to you. She was also spayed at Spay today, but had a lot of complications so she’s also been seen at Dr. Richmond’s office, as well as Faithful Friends Vet Hospital in Grifton NC. She is up to date on shots as well.

ANNA and ELSA

These lovely ladies are looking for a forever home! Anna and Elsa are 6 years old, spayed, microchipped, and good with children. They both have bunny-soft fur perfect for petting! They are littermates but could be adopted separately.

Anna and Elsa are currently at PetSmart Brier Creek, so stop by and say hi!

UPDATE: It's not cancer! The biopsy results came back as benign. YAY!

Send good vibes for Richmond! He had surgery on Saturday for what was supposed to be a hernia repair, but turned out to be a mass in his abdomen. The mass was removed and the biopsy results should be back by the end of the week. In the meantime, his foster mom is taking EXCELLENT care of him as he recovers. Get better soon, Richmond!

Do you have feral cats that could use a warm shelter this winter? One of our volunteers has made FREE cat shelters and has a few left to give away. DM Tom and Julia's Fosters to coordinate pickup.

We still have lots of outdoor cat shelters available for those that need them. They're free, but donations are welcome as donations go toward buying supplies to make more shelters.

DM us if you want to schedule a time for pickup.

President-Elect Joe Biden's German Shepherd Major to Be First Rescue Dog in the White House

The White House is about to get its first rescue dog! That house has seen its share of pets over the years, but never a rescue. Major was adopted from the Delaware Humane Association in 2018, and will be the first rescue dog to make its home at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. We hope his presence draws attention to rescue animals everywhere and encourages people to adopt, don't shop!

Dogs everywhere are wagging their tails as the White House has been without pooches for the past four years

**COURTESY POST: MOXIE IS MISSING**

Some of you may follow The Adventures of Pawfficer Moxie, a very special kitty in Mocksville, NC. Moxie has been missing since Tuesday. If you have any information, please contact her People. They miss her!

Moxie Ann Reagan is a 1.5 yr old female tabby (light brown and dark brown/black with stripes) and has a white belly and neck area. She has 3 legs (her right front arm is a bone appendage that is a birth defect). She is spayed, updated on all her shots, and is microchipped - her vet is Valley Animal Clinic in Mocksville, NC. Moxie's family and friends who live close by are doing everything they can to find her and get the word out.

On this #nationalcatday, we celebrate with the Cooper family the addition of their new kitten, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, the newest First Pet of North Carolina. As many of you know, the Coopers' beloved dog Benjamin passed away recently. The very same day, Darcy was discovered at a nearby church and in need of a home. Kismet!

Welcome home, Darcy!

They say that when God closes a door, he opens a window.

On the very morning we lost our dear Ben, a tiny kitten was discovered crying underneath a nearby church. The person who found him could not keep him, and Hilary ran over to rescue him.

So this is what came through our "window." Meet Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy—known as "Darcy," our newest First Pet. His name was inspired by the Jane Austen novel "Pride and Prejudice."

Darcy is definitely mostly Siamese—quite vocal, the mouth of the South. Of course, he will never be "in want of a wife" because here at First Pets, we believe in responsible pet ownership, which includes spaying and neutering.

We can't wait for y'all to get to know Darcy. ❤️

Calvin's Paws is much more than an animal rescue group. We are an organization that believes the life of every animal is precious and holds tremendous value. Great work-Great Rescuer! I have 11 Straycats. I recently paid € 4000 for a Cat Operation. Everyone said I am crazy. Do a mercy-killing for her. NO!
I've been following Patty Cake for about a year and a half and am wondering how he's doing. Covid has messed up my moving plans, but hoping to meet and click with him, when this is over...unless he finds another home that will treat him as awesomely as he deserves first.
3 months after being rescued, he is finally actually playing and trying to play with others. Still a bit scared of men.
Timone is so handsome
Ivy Lee's 5th birthday is coming up this week! Time flies and I'm so grateful to have her in my life. She put a patch on my heart when I needed it most. Happy birthday, Ivy, and thank you to Calvin's for bringing us together!
I may be creating a monster.
Thought I would share an updated picture of our Chibi Chi (formerly Chee). He's gotten a bit longer over the years and doesn't stray far from his favorite place... touching us in some form or fashion. He's come a long way from the kitty that hid on top of the kitchen cabinets on his first meet and greet here.
Cooney says.... nope. Not today!!
2 years ago today I adopted these two boys, my Brimley and Keanu (they were called Buddy and Beast). I do not remember their story so if you remember these little dudes, let me know! I love them both with all my heart and happily spoil them as much as I can (they are very spoiled boys). I included a before and after picture of the two. Thank you so much for all you do, connecting precious cats to their forever homes
My two girls from Calvin’s Paws. Adopted bonded together Memorial Weekend 2017. 🥰🥰 #JoeyAndMaggie
Thank you Julia! I am so happy Trouble found his furever home with your help! 🖤🐾🖤 Calvin’s Paws
My mother, Whitley Austin, adopted Banner on Saturday. She is going to call him Kirby. He has not had a bit of trouble adapting to the new environment and is very well socialized. After she showed him around for an hour, he played with the whole family until we left for dinner. After dinner he continued to play until we all went to bed. We had a friend visit Sunday and Kirby showed no hesitation greeting and playing with her. He then passed out on the couch with my dad and our friend was blown away that Kirby was already that comfortable with us. He is a perfect fit!
