Our friends at Episcopal Farmworkers Ministry in Dunn NC need help THIS Saturday distributing food to their community. If you want to help, this is a great way to have fun and an a rewarding way to serve. They need 5 volunteer slots to help distribute food in an outdoor, safe environment for a morning shift (9:30-12:30) and an afternoon shift (12 noon-3pm). WATCH: The Racial Divide: Inequity in Education

Thanks to ABC11 for recognizing Overflowing Hands & Belarussian Outreach and Rocky Top Catering for serving kids and families in Wake County. As of August 1, our team has delivered more than 320,000 meals and thousands of 15 pound fresh produce boxes in response to a community in need from COVID-19. A little bit of trivia.....if the boxes of produce were lined up end-to-end, the boxes of produce would extend more than 7 miles...that is crazy!!

So exciting to have more 4 playgrounds headed to Nicaragua. Data shows that kids that play outside are far more likely to do well in school and increases their chances of graduation. Parents living in poverty are more likely to fellowship and build relationships when taking their kids to playgrounds and meeting other families.
Thanks to Overflowing Hands donors for making this dream a reality. Go Empowered Dreamers in Nicaragua!!!

Feeding Hungry Kids

I have to say today is a sad day. Phone calls are coming in from families that are not getting fed today. Rocky Top Catering and Overflowing Hands have been delivering meals to 30 communities every Thursday for the past 11 weeks. We all came together to feed families and kids that do not have enough food because of COVID-19. We are forever grateful for the HUNDREDS of donors and volunteers that have supported our program to feed under-served families in forgotten neighborhoods. Meal distribution will continue on Mondays and Fridays. With all the challenges the COVID-19 brings, it was great having Courtney Lynne B.in Raleigh to help feed hungry kids and families in Wake Co NC. Check out the video. I love the focus that Deloitte puts on serving the most vulnerable children in the world!!

In the wake of #COVID19 many children are going without food because they can’t access free lunch programs at school. Some local charities receive $5K from Coastal Federal Credit Union but still need your help to battle COVID-19

Overflowing Hands received a $5,000 grant from Coastal Credit Union! We are very grateful to Coastal Federal for their continued support. 100% of the grant will be used to buy food for kids and families in Wake County. WOW. Rocky Top Catering and Overflowing Hands ARE DELIVERING!! YUMMY meals are going to kids and families in Wake County for 3 weeks now through our program, "Feeding Hungry Kids in Wake Co". We are SO GRATEFUL for our generous donors. ALL contributions are used to buy food. Rocky Top Catering is supplying the chefs, trucks and supplies! Feeding Hungry Kids

Now we need YOUR help to feed HUNGRY kids! Our goal is to distribute meal packs every Monday and Thursday while these children are not in school. Rocky Top is donating their talent, trucks and supplies so the cost of each meal is just $2.00. Overflowing Hands is coordinating food distribution, volunteers, prayers and fundraising. We need $10,000 per week to provide 2,500+ meals to hungry kids every Monday and Thursday. 100% of your donation will buy the food to prepare these meals, with NO fees or administration costs. Rocky Top Catering is a world-class catering company with a HUGE heart and they are partnering with Overflowing Hands to feed hungry kids in our Wake County neighborhoods. Yesterday was a GREAT day because we distributed over 2,500+ yummy, nutritious meals to 650 Wake County kids that are not getting hot meals at school due to COVID-19. A different group of kids will be served each day so that many will be loved on and hear the message 1 John 4:10 - I love Jesus because HE loved me first!
