"Like a lot of my generation, I was initially inspired by Jimi Hendrix and mainly played rock, funk, and blues. Over the years I took instruction in theory and composition and eventually progressed to jazz. I have played with a wide variety of artists that includes Delta blues musicians Johnny Shine and Chief Ellis, reggae pioneer Carlos Malcolm, and African musicians Oliver N'Goma and most recently Deborah Lukalu. I also played with the Melbourne Jazz Swingtime Orchestra in Florida. I currently host a Sunday Jazz Cafe where I invite local artists to participate. Most recently (until COVID), I was the lead guitar player for Jubilee Christian Church here in Atlanta."
