While COVID has changed the way we are able to currently engage with one another, the love and support our FPWC community has shown our families and staff through volunteerism is breathtaking!

Our open volunteer needs are:
* Housekeeping of a vacant apartment to prepare it for a new family to move in! (YAY!!)
* Handywork to fix a hole in the siding of the Day Center

Both of these needs can be done through minimal contact and social distancing.

Millions fear eviction without more aid from Congress

"Research shows that it’s an incredibly destabilizing thing for a family to go through an eviction, and they often never recover. They remain in poverty."

Millions of tenants are at risk of receiving eviction notices in late July as protections from a major coronavirus stimulus program are set to expire.

Family Promise on Twitter

You can show your support for children and families battling homelessness and raise awareness of this crisis by joining Family Promise’s first national Night Without A Bed sleepout on June 20, 2020.

Put up a tent in your back yard. Make a fort in your living room. Wrap up in blankets on the sofa or in a sleeping bag on the floor. Give up your comfortable bed for one night and share the experience with friends and family. Post photos of your Night Without A Bed on social media, tag Family Promise of Wake County, use the hashtag #NightWithoutABed, and ask sponsors to support your efforts to help families battling homelessness.

Note in the Pocket

Are you using this time to clean out your closets? We are thankful for the outpouring of community support during the COVID-19 stay at home orders. We ask that you sort donations into the following categories and label the outside of the bag or box:

✓ Spring/summer school appropriate clothing
✓ Fall/winter school appropriate clothing
✓ Remission or recycle clothing (items that have stains, tears or rips, used socks or underwear)
✓ Place all shoes in a separate bag from clothing

We will provide updates once our Donation Center is open again and we are able to accept clothing donations. Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions please contact us at [email protected].

Grateful to the volunteer coordinators who were able to join us today for our first ever virtual 'Coffee Talk'.

It was wonderful to check-in with each of you, share updated information about FPWC, receive information about your congregations and be able to say thank you for all you (and all of our volunteers) do to keep FPWC running!

Family Promise of Wake County relies on 3,500 volunteers annually to help with Emergency Shelter operations. Without those volunteers, the program would be impossible to continue. Every week we count our blessings for our volunteers, but this week we get to shout it from the rooftops!!!

We have the BEST volunteers!! Thank you for all that you do for our staff and, especially, for our families!

A great shoutout! We continue to provide necessary services to families experiencing homelessness thanks to our Case Managers Alissa, Latisha, Ty'keem), our Development & Volunteer Manager Carey, and our Administrative Assistant Amy. Their dedication has been unwavering during this time.
Thank you, Season Moore Photography - Raleigh, NC for capturing this great photo.

Another Unsung Hero today - meet beautiful Tish, case manager from Family Promise of Wake County. During a normal time this organization works to provide support services and safe housing for families experiencing homelessness. I truly can’t imagine what that looks like right now... General information

We are dedicated to ending homelessness. Our vision is one of restoring respect, hope and dignity to a stigmatized population. We help families become healthy by helping them maintain permanent housing, be sufficiently fed, have gainful employment and support its members emotionally. We envision a society in which all members contribute and are content with stability and connections in their lives.
