Here is the science behind maintenance care.
Occasionally I have a patient grumble about maintenance care. I asked them if the brush their teeth, wash their clothes, clean their house, get hair cuts, clip their nails? All maintenance care. Why should your back be any different. "Maintain" a healthy back.

Hey do we need to announcement any policies regarding corona virus...ie are we liable if we do not have a policy to address this public health issue??
We are new to the VA community partner program and have been running into some problems getting additional visits approved. What we seem to be running into is that they're requiring the patient to return to their PCP who then will approve/deny additional treatment. So far they've all approved additional visits, but it creates an interruption in treatment because it takes weeks for them to be seen, sometimes more.
Please let us know as soon as you can if the Wilmington event center out of commission due to damage from Dorian.

Here is a clinical tip for my Chiro brothers and sisters.
As I am entering a new patient's data for their first visit note.
Normally just a glance. A recent new patient had a photo ID that was drastically different than the one that stood before me.
She stood before me a 230 lbs burly female with strong facial features. Large masculine hands and feet. I felt like she was pushing to make her voice sound soft and feminine. Hey, some folks are just built that way. But comparing a picture from 4 years ago and today. She had weighed 165 lbs 4 years ago. Noticeable difference.
I asked if she had changed shoe size, could not wear some of her rings anymore, snored loudly. She said yes and I read to list I posted below. She had all but two.
I am quite sure that she has Acromegaly, a condition where the pituitary gland is producing excessive growth hormone. I have referred her out for testing but feel confident this is the case.
Had I not been in the practice of taking a quick peek at the photo ID, I never would have caught this.
Enlarged hands and feet
Coarsened, enlarged facial features
Coarse, oily, thickened skin
Excessive sweating and body odor
Small outgrowths of skin tissue (skin tags)
Fatigue and muscle weakness
A deepened, husky voice due to enlarged vocal cords and sinuses
Severe snoring due to obstruction of the upper airway
Impaired vision
Headaches
Enlarged tongue
Pain and limited joint mobility
Menstrual cycle irregularities in women
Erectile dysfunction in men
Enlarged organs, such as the heart
Loss of interest in sex
I just read that State Rep. James Torbett is introducing HB 548 which would remove chiropractic practice from the state definition of physical therapy. Does anyone know anything about this and what the implications are? Glenn Jaffe
