Few things are more fundamental to life than water. We’ve provided direct watershed conservation by securing conservation easements on the Asheville and Waynesville watersheds, but there's still work to do to protect the most value resource: water. CTNC - Land with Purpose

We are ready to deliver conservation with purpose.

Climate, Community, Equity: Conservation Trust for North Carolina embraces these three interwoven priorities that guide our conservation work. To be consistent with our values, relevant to the times we live in, meaningful to the people we work with, and effective into the future, we must deliver conservation action that achieves climate resilience, racial equity, and strong communities to build a more resilient, just North Carolina.

Hi there, I thought you might enjoy seeing this silly music parody video that our park staff and volunteers at Historic Yates Mill County Park in Raleigh, NC, have created to cheer people up and to bring some light-hearted fun to our park community in these hard times: https://fb.watch/2i7NBZzjXi/
What will make our communities more resilient ? there are 3 aspects to this question - 1) genuine inclusion 2) diversity 3) living with nature community resilience comes from the depth of its social coherence - its social sustainability - not its physical infrastructure - social diversity, like biodiversity, creates an interlocking network - the more diverse the deeper, stronger and more creative - genuine inclusion is when each member is generative to the community and the community is a source of generative energy to the individual. living with nature is a life recogning nature's (other life, the physics and chemistry of our planet) generative requirements and contributions. we cannot simply appreciate nature we, as part of nature but with the unique ability to steward the planet must actively engage nature in such a way that the development of our space (multidimensionally) meets the needs of all current life without compromising the ability of future life to meet their needs ! jack appleton author: values in sustainable development (your comment leads to a requirement of editing)

Found this lily plant on the side of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would love to think it is a Grays Lily and the flower sure looks like it. Problem is, it seems to be in the wrong place. Instead of being in an open meadow, it is in a partially shaded area. I wonder if anyone can tell if this is in fact a Grays Lily or a Canada Lily?
