On the last Sunday of each month, we provide a meal to the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter in Winchester, Va. For the July meal, the Nam Knights MC West Virginia Chapter partnered with Firehouse Subs of Winchester and delivered 45 meals. Not only were meals served, but we were able to also have a time of prayer. This was the first time since the pandemic that we were able to fellowship with the residents. Thank you to all who made this evening happen!

One of the best messages we receive from families in our Community is when they reach out to ask what they can do to help! The Smith boys put their heads and resources together and came up with 98 lbs of food to donate to the Pantry. We also gave them a tour of the Food Pantry so that they could see first hand where their donated food goes and HOW it reaches families in Western Loudoun. Thank you Brian and Heather Smith, and your generosity through your family.

We were able to bless the Purcellville community with 75 To-Go meals and 20 homebound meals last night. A huge thank you to our hosts, Deanna Mitchell, who supplied a variety of boxed meals from A Taste of Burma, and Rebecca Edwards, who prepared baked spaghetti and berry cobbler. We also appreciate the help we received from a team of volunteers. God is good all the time!

This Thankful Thursday, we'd like to recognize a very special group of people: The Edwards family is such a blessing to our community. Not only does Rebecca lead our Purcellville Community Kitchen ministry, but her family also is fully vested in many different ministries as well. From smoking meat for dinner for 200 at Christmas for Others, to serving Thursday night meals, to volunteering at The Clothing Closet and sorting donations in the Food Pantry and even growing lettuce at their farm for the Pantry: there is nothing that this family does not do to humbly serve others. Public recognition is not their "style" but is very well deserved. Thank you to the Edwards family, we are so grateful for you.

We have such kind and generous friends in our Community. Kathi Reich, who is an Independent Noonday Collection Ambassador, with the partnership of Amanda Daly donated all of their commission from a recent party to Tree of Life, specifically to the Community Kitchen to-go meals. Kathi has such a heart for this ministry, as she and her family also often volunteer on Thursdays during the meal. Thank you ladies. You are an inspiration to us.

Tremendous effort! Thank you to our wonderful community!

Today was a very special and long anticipated day. This morning, we were joined by Mayor Fraser, Members of the Purcellville Town Council, Delegate David LaRock, Tony Howard of Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and very special guests from our community for the official #RibbonCutting and prayer of blessing over the store. We are so humbled to have this opportunity to serve the community as a ministry of Tree of Life. Thank you also to #SweetRoseBakeshop for the delicious treats. We are so grateful to the #community for the support. #Purcellville #loudouncounty #LoudounChamber #shop #donate #volunteer #leesburglifestylemagazine #TheClothingCloset

This week's Purcellville weekly to-go dinners were generously provided by the Winger and Carlson families and Yvette Perry and her small group. It is no small feat to provide, prepare and serve these meals, 90 in total...and we are always amazed at how God provides. He is so good. All the time! See you next week!

Judah Da Silva began volunteering with us in the pantry during Winter Break from Liberty University this past Christmas Season. He's been helping us out every week as school schedules changed during the pandemic. Not only does he volunteer his time, but he also rounds up other youth members from his church! They've all been willing to help out whenever and wherever they can: in the Tree of Life Center, food pantry and most recently at the Clothing Closet. And always with smiling faces!
We are so very blessed to have them with us. Thank you!

We'd love for you to meet Jane Ford, our new Purcellville Food Pantry Operations Manager. Jane attended our Volunteer Induction Program (VIP) last Fall and introduced herself to us as the chicken lady! She blesses her church, Round Hill United Methodist Church, with many delicious eggs from her chickens, has been a wonderful volunteer at our pantry, and a gracious partner through the Round Hill United Methodist Church Pantry. Jane is a wife, mother and grandmother. She comes with lots of experience in the field. She’s stepping in as Brenda moves on to help us further in Leesburg. Please stop in to say hi and introduce yourself!

The Tree of Life Story

Tree of Life Ministries is a Christian, faith-based nonprofit founded in 2008.

Our Purpose is to reach out to the poor and needy in our community with the love of Jesus Christ.

Our Principles embrace the words of Jesus’ from His message to reach the ‘least of these’ who are hungry, thirsty, in need of clothing, sick and imprisoned.

Our Path involves extending practical help across a framework of 5 Branches – Food, Lifeskills, Shelter, Healthcare and Relief. Each Branch encompasses specific Ministries to meet the needs of the poor.

Our Priority is to meet the holistic needs of an individual with a ‘hand up’ rather than merely a ‘handout.’

People with a will to serve and love
Tree of Life has been wonderfully blessed to receive 50 Easter hams from the Dulles South Rotary Club to share with those families in need throughout our community. We are so grateful for this generous donation! We would also like to thank Alan Koehler with Mug N Muffin for his efforts in making this happen and in coordinating the drop off to the Tree of Life Food Pantry.
