About Homeschool Now USA
Homeschooling has grown dramatically since 1993, when it finally became legal in all 50 states.
Today, parents seeking educational options face a new challenge. Amidst the tumult of voices debating methods and philosophies of education, it can be difficult to get past the assumption “I could never homeschool.”
Parents need a space so they can hear encouraging voices saying “You can homeschool.”
Homeschool Now USA exists to give those voices a megaphone. Help us make that megaphone as big and loud as possible.
As an independent nonprofit coalition of homeschool organizations, Homeschool Now USA is dedicated to unifying homeschoolers in a shared mission to promote homeschooling during School Choice Week. Our goal is for homeschoolers across the country to speak in a loud, unified voice, reaching Americans who may not know that homeschooling is a feasible option and encouraging more families to educate their children at home.
We are working to break through this barrier and make homeschooling understandable and accessible to everyone. Our short-term goal is to provide resources and national marketing to more than 500 homeschool information meetings across the country this coming January (coordinating with National School Choice Week) and build on that number every year. In January, we will launch radio, social media, and word-of-mouth campaigns. We will also provide printed and downloadable information, tips, and tools for hosting the event.
These events will let families know “You can homeschool!”
And our somewhat audacious long-term goal—within the next 8–10 years—is to encourage 5 million U.S. families that they can homeschool.
But we can’t do it alone! We invite you to join us in this effort—attend a meeting, host a meeting, or make a tax-deductible donation.
