This little volunteer was acting out his peppers fighting evil. Children are naturally curious and creative thinkers, and we hope to help them build a solid foundation for understanding of the natural world, nutrition, and agriculture. A preview of our self guided field trip curriculum is available on our stories, what would you like to see added?

Hi! The Free Tree For Me event is coming up soon. Hope to see everyone there. I don’t have a species list yet, but I’m hoping to have some long leaf pine trees available, in addition to other varieties of trees and shrubs. Would anyone have space to be able to plant them? This year, we have a lot more volunteers and the plan is to have multiple lines, so that everyone can get through the lines a lot quicker. Local non-profit organizations will be set up with events, displays, and make-n-takes for the kids. The VA. Forestry Dept. and members of the Society of American Foresters will be there too. Their events are TBD and I’ll put more information out on that as we get closer to the event. We will also have free sample seed packets available, one per family please, while supplies last. Everyone, from all localities are welcome! This is a kid friendly event. If you are connected with a non-profit organization and would like to set up a table with an interactive activity, please send an email to Mohamed or Cheri Elrahhal at [email protected] Please put tree giveaway event in subject line. Thanks! https://www.facebook.com/events/484580075382963/?ti=icl
Hello JK Community Farm - how to I connect someone in need to the resources and food you provide? I have someone out of Harpers Ferry who probably could use some help with healthy foods. Thanks in advance! Might be good to have this post on your page for people to see the full cycle of this operation playing out .
This is an amazing and rewarding place to volunteer. I went out a couple weeks ago on a Saturday with a group and picked sweet potatoes, and green peppers. It was a great feeling knowing that all of the vegetables we picked were going to help those in need. On top of that, the farm is in a stunning location!
We are participating with JK Community Farm this month as our charity of the month. We look forward to volunteering later this month.
I just volunteered today planting. We planted 1800 lettuce plants that will help feed 1800 families in need in Loudoun County. Consider volunteering for a couple hours to help. They need the help.
Any information about how local residents who are interested in farming can volunteer or work on the community farm?
This is amazing and such a blessing to the community!
