Hi! Hope you're enjoying your spring break!
I'm thinking about making a seed mosaic when we do our growing things theme when we get back to school. I see one online where they put it in a cd case which I think is a great idea! anyone have some extra empty cases lying around?

For future parents and those not on our private page:
Hi folks-
This is a quick reminder that we'll hold a fundraising meeting tonight (7:00 in a classroom ) to discuss the upcoming fundraiser to be held on May 4th. With just one month to go, we still have a lot of organizing to do, so please try to carve out just an hour for us tonight. Children are welcome to come and play in the room while we talk, and I will do my absolute best to keep it to 45 min. I know bedtime is important!
The link to the sign up genius is on the page and below. I would encourage you to take a look at it and see where you could give us a little bit of help.
This is our first major fundraiser, and it will be open to the Poolesville community at large, so we need all the help we can get.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
I hope to see you tonight!

Thank you to all the children, parents and staff who help to build our family at SPECP. We couldn’t do it without you!

For parents that are NOT on the closed page:
Hi everyone!
Regarding Tuesday lunch....
Our idea is for the children to all eat together in the hallway. It’s about 30 children. Thank you to those who have already signed up. If you’d like to send something in, we would welcome whatever you’d like to contribute. When we made a list, we tried to be very simple, but left off some traditional food items. If you’re so inclined, we could add corn, stuffing, rolls, sweet potatoes, apple pie, milk (to drink) ....or an extra of any of the food items on the sign-up.
I don’t think we’d HAVE to have any of these things, but if you’d like to contribute something, those are the things we left off our list. We’re also glad to have an extra hand or two to help serve and clean up. We’ll plan to sit down at about noon.
Thanks for asking.
Enjoy your weekend.
I’ll be in the office on Monday if anyone has any questions.

Thanks,
Beth

Hello parents...

Hello Parents:
Regarding our inclement weather policy:
We follow the Montgomery County Public School’s (MCPS) calendar, and have 2 hour delays when MCPS does. When MCPS closes due to inclement weather, we also close.
I will post a confirmation of delay or closing on our page by 7:30 am when weather conditions indicate. If you have not joined our closed page, please let me know and I will add you. The page is called Saint Peter's Early Childhood Program Parents. I believe current followers of the page can add others. If that's a problem, let me know.

Looking ahead...
As we begin a new school year, take a minute to say a little prayer for the kids who don't fit in. The kids who come home in tears, because they sit at recess because no one will play with them. The kids who are “different” at school. Pray they know they are loved, pray they know they are special, and pray they find their tribe of friends.

Teach your kids to be kind to everyone.

Copy, paste and share the love.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind.💗

Curiosity about the world, initiative and problem solving, and focused attention and persistence are just a few approaches to learning that children develop through #play.

This is part of the reason we don’t do worksheets often.

This is part of the reason we don’t do worksheets often.

Writing has stages. When we ignore that fact and prompt children to trace letters it undermines the natural process that children should take to fully grasp the concept, develop the fine motor skills and develop a love of recording their thoughts. Children who are asked to trace letters before they are capable gain an "I can't do this" "I am stupid" "What is wrong with me?" attitude around writing. Simply providing writing tools and materials and allowing time and permission for children to explore them, supports their interest and natural development. #trustplay ( "S" is two years old and has a deep love for mark making)
