Dear parents we have partnered with the high school to provide meals to the learners currently at home, please do encourage all children to come to the community centre and receive a nutritional meal daily. Scheduled times for feeding scheme from 12:00 to 15:00.

Also, note that all three schools have feeding schemes up and running and the community centre is also operational therefor no child needs to be hungry.

We would also like to encourage everyone to wear a facemask when collecting food, good hygiene and social distance will be practice on site.

SWIPE TO SEE FULL ACTIVITY

This is our second last lockdown activity, we have to thank everyone for their feedback and support. You have all been amazing. Next week, we have more exciting worksheets to share to keep you motivated.

Today’s indoor activities allow parents to join in the fun too. If 'HOT POTATO' 🔥🥔 tickles your curiosity, then you know this is the game for you.

HealthNutz will be sharing one activity per day, Monday to Friday, which is part of our programmes that we usually implement in previously and presently disadvantaged communities. We know these are difficult and trying times, and in this small way, we hope we can help to fill time with constructive activity.

If you would like more information or would like to partner with us, our contact details are in our bio.

#TransformationTuesday

We are very proud of the transformation of our kitchen. The phenomenal impact it is having on our local children makes us even more proud.

From this kitchen, nutritious and balanced meals are served daily to the kids of Richmond - sometimes it is the only meal they get in a day.

Thank you to all of our donors who made this kitchen transformation possible. Your contributions have a significant effect on our community.

Grassroot Hope In SA is committed to ensuring the safety of our beneficiaries and this remains our top priority during the outbreak of the COVID 19(Corona Virus). We have taken the statement released by President Cyril Ramaphosa seriously and have adhered to the prescribed measures including to avoid group gatherings and to maintain a safe and clean environment for all who come into contact with our centre and our dedicated team.
We do want to mention that we have stopped all sporting and other life skills interventions Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder and HIV awareness programs taking place at our Community Centre.

We will proceed with extreme caution with the feeding scheme as there are still too many children that needs a nutritional meal.

We are equipped with hand sanitation washing facilities and we want to handle small groups at a time from 11:00 to 14:00 during the COVID 19 outbreak. We will endeavor to give food on a takeaway basis so that children are not kept in close quarters.

We urge community members to encourage hungry children to respond during those times only for feeding not for program activities.

Lastly we fully commit ourselves with Sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations number 1 No Poverty 2 - Zero hunger 3. good health and well being.

Community members in Richmond participate in a 4-day training with FARR (Foundation for alcohol-related research). Over the cause of the week, they will share knowledge about FASD(Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) and ways how the community can work together to reduce the affects of FASD.
The damaged caused by prenatal alcohol use is irreversible and permanent hence the community needs to be informed and empowered.
