Minnesota Department of Natural Resources

A friendly reminder before everyone hits the trails this winter.

Snowmobiling is a fun way to experience Minnesota’s natural resources. Many private landowners voluntarily allow trails to run through their property, and respectful riding goes a long way toward ensuring that access continues. Loud machines and trespass are two of landowners’ most common complaints, so before you go riding, remember:

• Stay on marked trails.
• Ask before riding on private property, even if it isn’t posted.
• Make sure your muffler is in good working order.

This is how one person trespassing on private property can ruin it for everyone, STAY ON THE TRAIL!! We shouldn't have to place "stay on trail", "do not enter" or "no snowmobile" signs at every field opening along the trail.

Were in need of volunteers to meet us this Saturday (11/17/18) at Red River Ag Convenience Store in Plummer, MN at 9:00 am. We will discuss what needs to be done and depart to the clubs warning shack to pick up trail signs and split up into 2 or 3 groups to clear any trees or branches from the snowmobile trail and place signs along the designated trail.

Items you may want to bring: tree pruner/shear, pole saw, chain saw, screw gun or impact driver with an assortment of torx bits, square bit, philips bit and a sheet metal screw bit, sledge hammer for driving posts into the ground.

ATV's or SidebySides are ONLY allowed on the snowmobile trail during our designated time for signing and maintenance. We ask everyone volunteering to respect the privately owned land and ride sensibly.

Were typically done by noon and will provide volunteers a pizza lunch.

It's not just trails at stake. Its Access to land both Public and Private. Your local club and State Association is the first line of defense in keeping land open to snowmobiling. No Clubs = Nowhere to Ride

Hey LTR Members and Friends -

We need your help!! No one likes to have their fees go up, but without a fee increase, we are looking at a significant decrease in funding.

MNUSA is asking you to contact your legislator to let them know that you support the $10 per year rate increase and that you would like a cap to be placed on the amount of the fund that the DNR can access. MNUSA is recommending a 60%(MNUSA) / 40% (DNR) split, but a 65%/35% would be even better.

Please read the letter shown and click on the link below to contact your legislator.
