An interesting find. C.A. Hopper an Industrialist, purchased the Los Medanos Ranch around 1900. He developed the town known as Black Diamond and was also the Father of Industry. His corporate offices were in San Francisco and he had a “country estate” in Pittsburg. Many photos of this can be seen at the museum. In 1910 he built this massive 9300sf mansion in Alameda where it still stands.
