We had an amazing trip fishing the spring striper run on the Roanoke River this weekend! This was a first for all who attended and I believe everyone is hooked. We enjoyed some great cooking and warm hospitality from our hosts Jerry and Darlynn. When we weren’t on the river, the boys were fishing in the farm pond, shooting s***t or practicing archery. We had some great campfires where we discussed how to resist the temptation of peer pressure by studying Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." The second night, we also spoke about being the light of the world and helping to bring others on the right path. Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." It was a great weekend and we look forward to making it an annual event.
