"On April 11, 1966, Airman 1st Class William Pitsenbarger personally saved more than 60 service members who had been ambushed by the Viet Cong. He was killed in action while trying to help the injured. The survivors of that battle recommended him for the Medal of Honor, a tribute that would not be fulfilled for nearly 35 years. Pitsenbarger's story is now told in a new film, "The Last Full Measure." CBS News national security correspondent David Martin talks with director Todd Robinson about his promise to Vietnam War veterans that their story, and Pitsenbarger's sacrifice, would not be forgotten."

Hello PTSD my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain -Still remains

Some nights are worse than others. Tonight is one of worst manifestations in the 5 decades since witnessing, and actively participating in, the slaughter of humans in war.

The vision of the violence of war implanted in my brain is neither soft nor silent. The nightmares rip into my peaceful slumber and instantly trap and transform my mind in a horror filled quagmire until the demonic visions finally end.

My struggle with PTSD began in the rice paddies, mountains and jungles of Vietnam as an 18 year old Marine in 1967.

Please pray for my peace of mind and the removal of my survivor guilt. I am sooooo weary as a result of way too many sleepless nights.

Semper Fi to my buddies who gave their all and whose names are inscribed on a black marble Wall. I will visit you at the Wall during my business trip to DC next week. We need to talk!!!
