Temple Hall 4H Club - Non-Ownership Sheep

Temple Hall 4H Club - Non-Ownership Sheep Temple Hall 4H Sheep Club is part of the Loudoun County 4H program. Founded by Temple Hall Farm almost 20 years ago to provide opportunities for non-ownership kids.

Today we are supported by Davlin, Checkmate, Willow Hawk, and Devilsbliss farms. We are part of the Loudoun County 4H program. Our club is one of the few non-ownership livestock clubs in the nation. Our members volunteer at farms and work with a project animal to take to the Loudoun County Fair.

Operating as usual

Do you love history? Heritage livestock and poultry like this American Mammoth Jack donkey are considered living history. George Washington helped develop the American Mammoth Jackstock breed, like the one featured at the Heritage Breed Stamp Ceremony at George Washington's Mount Vernon in May.

The United States Postal Service currently recognizes the vitally important role breeds like the American Mammoth Jack donkey have played in American history with the issue of Heritage Breeds Commemorative Forever Stamps. Ask for them at your local post office.

The world is finally recognizing the importance of mental health – a topic Project Horse Empowerment Center has made a key mission of their organization’s services.
To give back to veterans and their families, Project Horse developed the Warrior Herd program: science-baked equine-assisted therapy designed to prioritize mental wellness to address challenges related to military service. We applaud this amazing service to our community!

Good reminder for next week 😆
Check out this story. 4H played a role.
This can be said of this group of kids as well! https://www.facebook.com/171770659541770/posts/2209862075732608/
Attended the MD Lamb & Kid School yesterday. The kids program was great. Next year we should have a group go. Among the many kids activities they got to observe an autopsy of both a lamb and kid. To receive flash drive with proceedings and resource materials, send name, address, and $10 check (payable to the University of Maryland) to LK School Flash Drive, Western Maryland Research & Education Center, 18330 Keedysville Road, Keedysville, MD 21756. https://www.facebook.com/180481615364396/posts/2067902599955612/
I attended the MD Lamb & Kid School yesterday. It was worth the drive to the Howard Co Fairgrounds. If anyone is interested in the sessions read on about getting the info. “To receive flash drive with proceedings and resource materials, send name, address, and $10 check (payable to the University of Maryland) to LK School Flash Drive, Western Maryland Research & Education Center, 18330 Keedysville Road, Keedysville, MD 21756.”
Quarantine is over. Happy sheep, happy farmer! #4hfair #loudouncountyfair2018
