What would our contests be without the awesome competitors who showed up with their pies, humungous tomatoes, zucchinis and best dressed vegetables? A total of 11 pies in the senior division and 2 in the junior division graced our table. Seven very large zucchinis appeared with the winner measuring in at 18"! Tomatoes were wheeled in on a fork lift (kidding). They were the object of wonder for passers by. The best dressed vegetables were beets cleverly disguised as odd people with strawberry eyes and daisy hairdos. Very artistic! Our judges did a splendid job giving suggestions and kudos to our competitors. Thank you to all involved in our contests making for a fun event to participate in or to watch.

Food, glorious food. We had something old fashioned and something new fangled for food. Thanks to the inventiveness of our food vendors no one left hungry.

08/28/2015

We are very grateful to all our wonderful vendors, entertainers, demonstrators, musicians and authors who provided our visitors with much to see, experience and shop for at the 2015 Lucketts Fair. They and their animals, in many cases, endured a hot weekend and brought to light the diversity within the Lucketts Community and surrounding areas. Thank you!!

08/28/2015

A huge thank you to all the Lucketts residents (grown ups and kiddies) who volunteered their time to help during the 2015 Lucketts Fair. There are no words big enough for how much your time is appreciated. The Fair would not function without the volunteers manning the gates, stamping the hands, greeting our visitors, driving the golf carts, scooping ice cream and the myriad of jobs that are in the background that no one sees. It was a hot weekend but the cloggers danced, the border collies herded, the stilt walker joked and the Bluegrass music resounded. Thanks to all! The planning process for the 2016 Fair begins in January. We'd love to have volunteers come to the Lucketts Community Center with ideas and a desire to pitch in to launch a successful Fair for 2016.

Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers

On the Community Center Stage enjoy the rhythm of the Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers performing at 11am and 2pm on Saturday of The Lucketts Fair August 15.

Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers dance to all types of music including: traditional bluegrass, country, pop rock, Irish, orchestral. We perform at many local festivals, school functions, community events, retirement centers, malls and private parties.

BRTC is Loudoun’s own! We meet in a converted barn near Purcellville, Virginia, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. (See directions below.) It is a community where tradition and family are very important and BRTC tries to maintain that atmosphere. Many of our dancers are family groups. BRTC accepts students ages 6-101. You do not need to bring along a partner, but you may want to bring along a friend to share the fun!
