Artisans! This show is designed for you!

You still have time. Submit your work to participate in this curated exhibit of three-dimensional work.

Potters, sculptors, jewelers, and artisans of all kinds are encouraged to participate in a rare exhibit for three-dimensional work.The Loudoun Arts Council and Thomas Balch Library invites all artisans working or living in Loudoun County to apply for the first Loudoun Artisans' Showcase, a curated exhibit held in the central Mercer Room at the historic library from September 3rd through September 30th, 2019. The Public is invited to an Artists Reception on Sunday September 8 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Functional or non-functional pieces in any medium will be considered. Space is a limiting factor; the interiors of the two display cases measure approximately 27” wide x 78” long x 10” high. Choose your best work that will fit within these measurements. You may enter up to three items.

The deadline to apply is midnight, Friday August 9th, 2019. Artists will be informed of inclusion status on August 16th.

This is a hands-on class where students learn how milk paint is different—and how beautiful it can be!

Milk paint is our first choice for easily creating layered and textured finishes on furniture with multiple paint colors.

We use Real Milk Paint products, made from 100% organic materials. This is the milk paint brand we sell here at the shop. Students receive a 10% discount on all paint purchases made the day of class.

Unicorn SPiT is a new non-toxic, vibrantly-colored rainbow gel stain/glaze that can be used to create a variety of wonderfully colorful looks on furniture and more. All Things New Again in Leesburg offers the only Unicorn SPiT class in the Northern Virginia/ metro DC area. This is a comprehensive, hands-on class teaching several techniques to get started using Unicorn SPiT.

WARNING: Unicorn Spit Class is MESSY! (We apply the Unicorn Spit with our hands on several techniques.)

Wear paint clothes and leave your good jewelry at home.

Due to space constraints in our studio, we must limit our classes to 3 people so our classes fill up quickly. This class is only offered 4 times per year.

If you are new to painting furniture, our Learn How to Paint Furniture Class is a great place to start. We teach the basics plus several advanced techniques. If you are an experienced painter and want to learn new finishes to enhance your projects using chalk and mineral paints, this class is for you too.

We use Dixie Belle Paint Company products in this class, the beautiful line of no-VOC chalk/mineral paint we sell here at the shop. (Most of the techniques you learn can be created with other brands of chalk paints as well.) Students will receive a 10% discount on all paint purchases made the day of class.

Joshua’s Hands will host 10 days of quilting fun to make handmade quilts for servicemen and women wounded while serving our country. All are welcome! No sewing

Join nearly two dozen artists in their Lovettsville area studios on November 10th and 11th for the eighth annual Catoctin Holiday Art Tour: a weekend of beautiful scenery, friendly folks, and local art.
This relaxing self-guided driving tour leads visitors down some of western Loudoun's prettiest country roads, to homes and studios in the thriving artists' community of Lovettsville.
Visitors meet the artists where they work and have the opportunity to buy affordable art and gifts in advance of the holiday shopping rush.
Many studios feature food and wine from local businesses as well. Small enough to do in an afternoon, with art of a caliber to merit a day trip from DC.
