Greg’s goal for CLYFL is to put his proven track record and experience to work to ensure that the league continues to be colvent and the premier youth football organization in Loudoun County.

SECRETARY - MICHELLE FORLINI (44 votes)

Michelle Forlini, a Loudoun County native, has been volunteering and providing leadership and team development opportunities for young people since she herself was a student at Park View High School in Sterling, Virginia. Serving as an elected member of the 1996-1997 Virginia State Executive Council for the organization now known as Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Michelle began a leadership journey that has allowed her to work with diverse student populations in Loudoun County and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

For more than 20 years, Michelle has continued to support Virginia FCCLA as a volunteer, receiving the Alumni Achievement Award from the state association in 2013 for her ongoing commitment to developing youth leaders. As part of her work with FCCLA, she facilitates leadership development opportunities for students from rural, suburban and urban communities from all over the Commonwealth.

Locally, Michelle is heavily involved with the Central Loudoun Youth Football League (CLYFL), an athletic organization committed to developing youth as both team players and as people, where she is a current member of the board of directors and the 2018 coach of the year recipient. Michelle has been involved with the league for seven years, including four years as an NAYS-certified cheerleading coach to her 10 year old daughter's cheer squad. She also brings her 25 years of corporate procurement experience at one of the top 5 retail chains in the United States and her Food Safety Manager certification to her volunteer role as Director of Concessions for CLYFL. Her extensive experience in supply chain was one of the driving forces for cost reductions in concessions allowing the league to provide necessary equipment upgrades while keeping costs down for the families. In addition to her volunteer work with CLYFL, Michelle is also a local Girl Scouts Troop Leader.

Michelle believes strongly in the potential of youth leadership and team development as a catalyst for community building. As a former student leader and cheerleader, she is grateful for the opportunity she now has to give back to a new generation of leaders and team players in her community. Michelle lives in Leesburg, Virginia with her husband and their two children. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work from George Mason University.

DIRECTOR OF FIELDS - SHANNON WELCH

APPOINTED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

My name is Shannon Welch and I grew up in Loudoun County, currently raising our family here in Lovettsville, and my daughters have always been involved in sports and activities. As an involved parent, I frequently volunteer to support the efforts that make the sports programs so wonderful. We are an animal loving family, with two dogs and two guinea pigs, we consider them part of our tribe. Our family enjoys swimming, biking, jumping on our trampoline, doing crafts, and playing in the tree house out back. This will be my daughters' (Cali age 8 and Bella age 5) first year of cheer, but they have attended cheer camps and dance classes for the last two years. As for my qualifications for the position, I work for the Loudoun County Department of Family Services and have over 8 years of experience with assisting a diverse population, communication, and working within strict policies. My husband, Christopher Welch currently works for Loudoun County Parks and Recreation and before that he worked for the Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation. His knowledge, connections, and skills will benefit me in the role of Director of Field Operations. I have the skills needed to communicate and network with any organization needed to schedule and maintain the fields and his expertise will be an added advantage to getting things accomplished efficiently.

WOW....Check this out! Did you guys see this? Vicis will be 26 million dollars in debt and can not fulfill orders they currently have. All this despite a million-dollar grant they received from the NFL. “Our employees are currently furloughed and we need to raise capital in order to continue operating, or we may have no other option but to wind down all operations,” wrote Ralph Greene Jr., who took over as the new chief executive just days before, in a letter reviewed by The New York Times.
