It’s Giving Tuesday! Support the charitable movement by joining FOBR or making a donation (https://bansheereeksnp.org/join-us/) so that we can continue to make Banshee Reeks a Virginia Treasure.

This has been a challenging year for all of us, but Banshee Reeks and FOBR have still been able to accomplish the following thanks to your generous support:

1. Banshee Reeks has stayed open during the pandemic, and its amenities have improved even in the face of record-level attendance and staffing challenges.
2. FOBR held its first ever virtual annual meeting where Jordan Green, Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) District Biologist, gave an informative presentation on how to peacefully co-exist with bears in Loudoun County.
3. Banshee Reeks is designing and installing interpretive signage throughout the preserve.
4. The second classroom (known as the "Carriage House") has been finished.
5. FOBR further improved its website (https://bansheereeksnp.org/), making it even easier to learn more about the recreational, educational, and volunteer opportunities available at the preserve.

Your generous support (https://bansheereeksnp.org/join-us/) will allow us to do even more for the preserve in the coming year. Please join us today!

Open Invitation: Public Lands, We the People - The Critical Role Public Lands Play in Solving the Climate and Biodiversity Crises Constituting nearly one-third of the landmass of the U.S., public lands offer a critical solution to the climate and extinction crises and are fundamental to the clean air and water we depend upon for human health. Public Lands, We the People aims to explore innovative ways in which public lands can be managed to more equitably benefit people and nature, including engaging tribes, people of color and lower-income communities that have been excluded from public lands decision-making. The health and well-being of future generations and our planet depend on our ability to re-imagine and expand the promise of public lands. Join the Aspen Institute and The Wilderness Society throughout the month of July as we collect big ideas from thought leaders, change-makers, and the public for the future of our public lands. Breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful deep in the park today. I had to make my way through a lot of snow accompanied only by occasional wildlife, but it was worth it.
You really let them bully them into you taking down your deer hunt post? You should have predicted the eruption. I did. But, it's a sad state of affairs when people can't handle seeing an image of a dead animal. I wish they'd all go back to wherever they came.
Has anyone ever checked persimmon seeds to predict the weather? It might be fun to compare... https://www.facebook.com/1561050771/posts/10212036770905511/
