We enjoyed Buddy's presentation today at our Rotary meeting.

Washington Business Journal reached out to Buddy Rizer and fellow leaders on the Power 100 List for insights on finding solace and staying happy during 2020:

"Music has always had a way of transporting me to a better headspace," Rizer said.

"While I was teleworking during Covid, I made a point of actively listening to at least one vinyl album from start to finish. Some days, it would be the Stones, some days Wilco, some days Tom Petty — but every day it was something different, and every day it brought me to a happy place."

This evening was our annual Rotary Club of Leesburg-Daybreak Charter Night celebration. The Rotary year 2018-2019 was our club's 29th year since it was chartered.

We celebrated our many accomplishments and outstanding year under outgoing President Dina Abu-Hassan and her officers and committee chairs. We had the induction of our new President Susan Jane Stack and her new slate of officers and committee chairs.

Brad Gable was honored as the well-deserved "Rotarian of the Year" and Stilson Green was honored as "Citizen of the Year." His unbelievably vast list of community service contributions over countless years was beyond impressive.

Congratulations to Adrienne Greene who was inducted as our newest member.

Our Rotary motto is "Service Above Self" and we each try our best to abide by the "Rotary Club Four-Way Test."

We have grown to a 64-member club of wonderful, caring and service minded people. So proud of this year's many community service endeavors and we raised $100,000 to support our numerous programs, which include grants to 12 Loudoun County Non-Profits, college scholarships and countless other local and even international projects.

At our Rotary Club breakfast meeting this week we were honored to have Mr. Eric Ianson Associate Director of Flight Programs in the Earth give us a very informative presentation. He covered information about the vast number of NASA satellites, airborne programs and projects. Fascinating to learn about the quite numerous programs and projects NASA does to gather critical data on our planet.

Our Rotary Club Leesburg Daybreak Rotary Club has sponsored this holiday party for kids that are clients of Health Works in Leesburg for over 7 year now. It is one of my favorite events of the year. Loudoun County High School Interact kids support us with games and set up / clean up. We get great food and drinks. And the USMC Toys for Tots provides all the toys for the kids. It is truly a win - win - win event.

What an amazing Christmas party for the kids at HealthWorks for Northern Virginia today, complete with food, games, crafts and toys. The kids were so excited to see Santa (aka Tony Howard) who once again was the highlight of the day!
