Challenger League Inc

Challenger League Inc Challenger League Inc believes that all individuals have the right to experience life to its fullest potential We started as a dream from a mother that simply wanted her special needs child to play a REAL game of baseball without the strict level of competition that often comes with little league baseball.
(10)

The need was so large that it has rolled into a non-profit to provide more normal experiences that the special needs kids can be involved in and the parents can enjoy watching the kids. Since we have been able to bring more adventures to our kids we now have baseball, kickball, dance line, summer camp bowling and plan to have fishing days in the Spring

Critical Advocacy Alert Message - Family Support Program

The Family Support Program currently funded by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is facing the threat of a $1 million dollar budget cut proposal. This will have an immediate impact on Georgian families caring for loved ones with Developmental, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Medical Fragility. This funding cut is referenced as $1 million in adult family support services in Georgia proposed to Governor Kemp and the Georgia legislature.
We need your help in sharing just how important this funding is for your family, your community and to over 2,000 children and adults living in the Southern portion of Georgia. Easterseals' Family Support program provides financial assistance and resource connection(s) for therapies, medical supplies and equipment, travel, respite care and recreational and social opportunities to families in over sixty counties of Southern Georgia.
In order to continue to serve over 2,000 families, we need secured funding from the state legislature. As of now, there is a risk of losing $1 million dollars in funds for people with Developmental Delays, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism or Medical Fragility. PLEASE take a few minutes to call, connect with or email your representatives and help us advocate for Family Support Funding.
For more information on the Family Support program and advocacy efforts, please email [email protected] or connect with us at 1-800-365-4583.

Down Syndrome Association of Southwest GA is inviting families of individuals with Down Syndrome to come out and celebrate World Down Syndome.
I'm hoping I can get some advice. My son is a big time sensory seeker and then he's sensory sensitive at the same time. We've had a long time issue of his screaming/ screeching really high pitch. He's seeking input but I don't know how to give him that while also deterring the behavior. He does it all the time now. I had the idea of maybe the re-vibe watch thinking maybe the vibrating would give him input but my husband reminded me that he will likely chew on it. Any tips would be really appreciated!
Does anyone know if the pond at chehaw wheelchair accessible? Ty's power chair won't drive at a major incline. Does it drop down a hill or is there a flat spot that goes close to the pond?
I need something different to with the kids. Someplace that is wheelchair friendly and that a 17 yr old would actually want to do lol.
