Sometimes a simple connection or advice from someone who’s been there is all our #caregivers need for support.
Megan & Ashlee met while their husbands were recovering from amputations at the Center for the Intrepid. Both being 1000+ miles away from their homes, family, & support system, they quickly connected and began to rely on each other to get through the hard days.
10 years later- they still pick up the phone and call each other when the daily stresses of caregiving occur.
If you know a caregiver of a post 9/11 veteran that may need support or someone to connect with, have them check out the Veteran's Caregiver Alliance: https://saluteheroes.org/veterans-caregiver-alliance/
