It's Faculty Friday! Meet a fabulous addition to our Middle School team, Ms. Ally Pannuto.

Ms. Pannuto was immersed in the education field starting in high school, where she completed a Teacher Education program from New Paltz High School. With a love for traveling, Ms. Pannuto spent the summer of 2019 volunteering in Uganda, Africa, where she taught English and Math at a juvenile detention center. She went on to graduate from CUNY Hunter College this past summer with her BA in English and a Field of Study in Preparation for Secondary Education with honors, all while competing on their Women’s Basketball and Softball teams. Both her grandfather and grandmother were lifelong educators, and inspired Ms. Pannuto with their work ethic and dedication to helping their students become the best version of themselves.

Ms. Pannuto loves to spend her free time on a softball field or basketball court, and can always be seen with a good book in her bag! She is beyond grateful to start her first year at LCDS with an amazing group of students and fellow teachers, and hopes that the 2021-22 school year will be filled with amazing memories, growth, and laughter!

We have three fantastic Kindergarten classrooms this year... and these kids are having the best time! Meet one of the new LCDS teachers who make learning so much fun, Ms. Kristin Siegert.

Ms. Siegert holds a BA in Theater from James Madison University and began her career in the entertainment industry in New York City, where she worked at a talent agency for several years. While making a career shift, she spent two summers at a sleepaway camp, serving as the Program Director Assistant. It is there where she realized her passion to work with children and decided to go back to school and pursue her MA in Teaching at Manhattanville College, where she became certified in Early Childhood and Childhood Education.

For the past two years, Ms. Siegert has worked at an all-boys school in Greenwich, CT, where she taught Kindergarten and First Grade. She believes that there is something truly special about early education. Ms. Siegert values what is unique about each of her students and loves to see the “ah-ha” moment when they discover something new!

It's Faculty Friday! Meet our new PE teacher (and self-taught yogi), Coach Charlie Dennis.

After graduating from the University of Plymouth in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in business and events management, Coach Dennis found his passion for teaching while coaching sports at a summer camp in New Hampshire. After a brief 2-year sabbatical working as a ski instructor and chef in the European Alps, he pursued his passion for teaching when he graduated from Bath Spa University with a Masters in elementary education in 2014.

Coach Dennis taught for 5 years in the UK, Spain and China. While teaching in Spain, he met his American wife, who convinced him to give his passport a bit of a break and settle down in the USA in 2019. Working as a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach through 2020 helped Charlie rediscover a passion for teaching sports and physical education which he’s excited to bring to the LCDS Athletics department.

Mrs. Kling graduated from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, she attended James Madison University to complete a Master’s of Art in Teaching in General K-12 Education with a specialization in Special Education. Yesterday brought so many emotions. Our fifth graders "graduated" from lower school and are on their way to middle. Just as we were already reaching for the tissues, student Emma Mehrkam was awarded the first ever "Gabriella Miller Award for Courage, Compassion and Character."

Gabriella was a fifth grader at LCDS when she lost her battle with a rare brain cancer. An inspiration and force to be reckoned with, Gabriella founded the Smashing Walnuts Foundation to increase awareness of the need for funding for childhood brain cancer research.

Our very special thanks to the beautiful Miller family for sharing Gabriella's light with us and presenting Emma with her award.

The greatest of luck to our wonderful Class of 2024 as they move into this next chapter of their lives!

Bonjour, I would like to share with you a great opportunity for children wanting to improve their French speaking skills this summer.
Parents: The Loudoun Times-Mirror "Best of Loudoun 2020" poll is now open for first round voting for the Top Five! New this year, you may vote once per day through December 27th. So vote early and vote often (and spread the word)! LCDS has been nominated for “Best Private School”, “Best Camp/Summer Program”, “Best Childcare/Preschool”, and “Best Education/Enrichment/Tutoring Service”.
One of the reasons we love LCDS is they have the most incredible art program and have created a professional artist out of our rising second grader, Saydie Forst. She's sold several paintings at her first art show and has several commissioned pieces she is working on! #whylcds
anyone know the tax ID the LCDS?
Grandchildren go there and it is an excellent school.
Watch as Ben Cross (LCDS '12) celebrates with his Denison teammates!
Loudoun Country Day School had been mentioned in Prospect Hill's blog! Read it here...
Hi! I'm looking forward to your High School fair this year. Do you have a date set?
Have some great ideas on what rides we should have at the 2018 Fall Fun Fair (FFF)? Have any preference on food vendor for the FFF? Want to run for an LCDS PA officer role for the 2018-2019 school year? Do you have suggestions on possible 2018 Winter Market Vendors? PLEASE, then come join us at our next PA meeting NEXT Wednesday night @ 6:30pm in the Library! Enjoy some great food and drinks while we meet. Babysitting also available. PLEASE do let me know or PM if your child will be staying so that we can make sure we have enough babysitters for the event!
The Green and Blue Gala online auction is now open! Class baskets, faculty experiences, and online-only specialty packages are now available for bids. Class projects, except for the eighth grade poetry book, which is on sale now, will be uploaded later this week. Class projects will be auctioned off live at the Gala, as will time-honored favorites like the new-and-improved Headmaster for the Week (which now includes a flight over the campus with Dr. Hollister!), the coveted VIP parking and carpool spaces! Keep checking the website for updates and additional items, and don't forget to buy your tickets tonight before the price increases to $175 per ticket!
Looking for people interested in carpools from Western Loudoun - Middleburg or Purcellville areas. Anyone out there?
Congratulations! Many familiar faces and very fond memories of Bryn and Emmy's time at LCDS. All our best to all the graduates. The Morris family.
