A Prayer for Joy, Peace and Safe Journey:

Almighty God, once you divided the seas so your people safely might be delivered and pass securely on dry ground into new freedom. You preserved the apostles and saints of old as they traveled, granting them peace in the midst of adversity, the Spirit to count it all joy. You made safe the way of your people. You blessed feasts and holidays with gladness in celebration of your many good gifts to us.

We commit to your care and keeping all who travel to Laurel for our Q125 celebration this weekend. Bless us again in our time of thanksgiving, opening our eyes to your continued goodness for us through all our years. Grant us peace and wellbeing, joy and good cheer, and many happy reunions with returning family and friends.

Into your hands we commend ourselves, our bodies and souls and all things. Let your holy angels be with us, that the wicked foe may have no power over us, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

“Now thank we all our God
with heart and hands and voices,
who wondrous things has done,
in whom his world rejoices;
who from our mothers' arms
has blessed us on our way
with countless gifts of love,
and still is ours today.”

Maybe you’ve heard of a ‘flash mob,’ well we’re working up a ‘flash choir’ to sing a few verses of “The Church’s One Foundation.”

You know the song—if you’re willing to add your voice, for practice times contact

Q125 Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving—Join us at 10:00AM in the Laurel City Park on Sunday, June 17th for a rare opportunity spiritually to serve our community! God has blessed His people in Laurel for 125 years. Let us give thanks, for great is His faithfulness to us—and for us—in all our tomorrows. As Chairman of the Laurel-Concord Ministerial Association, Pastor Jeffery Warner of Immanuel Lutheran Church (LCMS) will lead the 10AM Sunday service for the whole community as together we recall The Lord’s work among us and seek His blessing for the future. Add your voice in song and lift up your hearts in prayer. For our congregations, for our fellow Christians, for this community and all citizens in every walk of life, we pray “that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” (1 Tim. 2:1-4)

[No other Service will be held for Immanuel on Sunday, June 17. In case of bad weather, we gather at the LCC gym at 10AM]

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
—1 Timothy 2:1-4 (ESV)
