We are available to residential property owners or renters, businesses and managed colonies. Founded March 2013. ADOPTED! 5.18.20 Meet Navi (aka QueenB). As you can see, sheโ€™s remarkable. Her name means kindness, but sheโ€™s also a little fairy, creature that shares the good advice, lol. Navi experienced some hardships in her beginning weeks. We have had her on a heavy, 10 day antibiotic for a URI that has helped immensely. We expect big things from tiny Navi. Thank you for taking her in Leah!

Sweet Baby Girl was literally thrown out of a car into the street when the vehicle pulled up to the caretakerโ€™s house last year. It slowed down, someone opened the side door and two teenage cats were thrown out. Baby was easy to spot because she stood out from the colony. This is Babyโ€™s 1st and last litter. Her 3 healthy, beautiful kittens will be adopted to loving homes. Tonight they get to spend another night with mama, out of the rain and under a sky light. Theyโ€™ll enjoy plenty of soft food, fresh water and treats. Hereโ€™s to livinโ€™ their best life ahead.

ADOPTED! 5.16.20 Meet Yoshi. What a gentle lil soul. The softness in his eyes will melt you. Yoshi, formally named Simon by my daughter, quickly became a family favorite. Heโ€™s a snuggle-smuggler and appreciates curling up right under your chin. Yoshiโ€™s new family spotted him from afar and made the drive up from Wilmington to take him home. Thank you to furrever faithful fosters, Susan and Kinsey. You two put all the love into homing our babies. To your best life lived, Yoshi! ๐Ÿงก

ADOPTED! 5.15.20 Meet Ravann๐Ÿ–ค Her bright and playful demeanor won me over fast. She will actually climb you to get close, sit in your lap... snuggle your breath. Ravann was adopted by Susan, mom and grandma to new kittens, Ewan and Birdie... adopted within the same family. Sweet Ravann was delivered to VB and when I heard her name was to be Ravann, it melted my heart. To me, it feels in honor of the recent, tragic loss of an amazing human, Ravann Rachellโ€™e. Aum Ravann. ๐Ÿพ

ADOTED 5.1.20 Meet Darci. This docile lil soul was adopted with her brother Dylan. These two were โ€˜the middle childrenโ€™ of 6. They looked nearly identical and were naturally bonded, so when JoAnne chose them together is was purrfect. They are such a gentle, playful pair. These two share their home with a vibrant young labradoodle named Shelby and a few other furry rascals. So happy for Darcy and her OBX furrever family.

Fever coat rescue.

2.21.2020: Look at the expressions on these children's faces...a perfect cross of my daily emotions rescuing kittens.๐Ÿ˜‚ Pure bliss and absolute anxiety. Then... zoom in on lil Thomas. He's paws-up for the rescue! Kittens come along with TNR. Our passion is in assisting the free-roaming cats and part of that is getting to kittens at a young enough age to acclimate, but not too young. These babies were still nursing their very feral mama. I had to make a decision to let them go a few more weeks with her. I provided a deep tupperware tote with blankets and placed it high and out of the elements. I watched daily as mama would spend most her time with them, but felt safe leaving them to hunt. By 5.5 weeks they were all 5 scooped up and taken in.
This kitten season, we would like to challenge you. If you come across a litter of kittens, contact your local rescues for advice and direction. If it's determined the babies need to be saved, we encourage you to take the one-litter-challenge. With the guidance of a rescue, take on the challenge of adapting those kittens to human touch, contacting all your friend's and family members to adopt and HELP home those babies off the streets. Each season, your local rescues are never fully prepared for the kitten rush. You can help offset that. Take the one-litter-challenge in 2020 and help foster and home a litter of kittens in your hometown. Rescues need your commitment, a small, but worthy sacrifice. If you live in or around Dare County, we need you! Feline Fix Foundation, Feline Hope, The OBX SPCA, Outer Banks Sanctuary, Winston's March... need you. The free-roaming, community cats of the Outer Banks need you. In 2020 feel good about making a difference where you are needed most.

The 6 get their 1st round of vaccinations this morning and will all be in their homes by Saturday. Iโ€™m driving 4 to Virginia! In just over a month, Feline Fix Foundation has TNRd 16 adults from this colony and pulled 11 beautiful kittens.

We currently have all 11 kittens between 2 homes. The Community Cat Food Bank, CCFB Bin at Walmart, is completely depleted of reserve for the first time in a year.

His left ear looked like a perfect notch. Thankfully, being his left (Left for Ladies) I realized he was still intact! Lucky guy got some extra time in the playinโ€™ field. Our Story

Established in 2013, Feline Fix Foundation is a federal non-profit, 501(c)3 that utilizes the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) method to effectively reduce the Outer Banks Free-Roaming, Community Cat Population. We offer assistance with Trapping, Transport, Low Cost Spay/Neuter Surgery, Vaccinations/ Rabies Prevention, Ear-Tipping, After-Care and Returning. TNR- Trap-Neuter-Return is the Only Humane Method of Population Care and Control. This is Colony Management, not Enablement. Feline Fix Foundation will always encourage caretakers to bring cats back to their original colony, providing that is a safe means and option. Shelter and Food Source areas Need to be occupied by Ear-Tipped Cats. When cohesive, colony cats are removed, we experience whatโ€™s referred to as the vacuum effect. New, intact cats occupy the open space. Trap-Neuter-Return should be the Only Means to Maintain Wild Cat Over-Population. Learn, Educate, Be Proactive. SPAY and NEUTER your Pets. Our Island needs you. Our Community Needs You. Most Importantly, these Lives Matter. The Community Cats Need You. Please follow along our pages. The day in the life of a fixed semi-feral kitty, this guy...comes to the front door calling for someone to come outside then walks them to the glider wanting to be covered with the blanket so he can nap all day....๐Ÿ’ž
Calling on all cat/animal advocates to join in a fight or be the voice for 20 feral cats living in Victory Landing park in downtown Newport News Jan 14th @7:00 pm in City Council chambers, 2400 Washington Ave NN, VA 23607. On December 20th I posted a message about how a Newport News Director (I previously said supervisor, but found out differently) wants the 20 cats to โ€˜disappearโ€™ by February 1st so he can have vegetation in the park removed. In a part of this vegetation is where the cats live. It is located at the top of the beach embankment. To note, this is not a park most people would want to come too, day or night, due its location and other not so pleasant variables. Moreover, we believe to have the cats killed as the 1st and only answer is not only an inhumane way to handle this, but this can also be considered cruelty. These cats have been spayed/neutered, cared for, and loved for the past 5 years by volunteers. The volunteers, me included, want the cats to remain living out their life in this park. This park is in a location no one visits, and the vegetation is by the edge of the rocks where the cats live (down the cliff is the James River). To date, we wrote the man responsible for making this decision, Michael Poplawski. Michael is the Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department for the city of Newport News. His response was he going to have the cats removed and killed. Based on this response, we filed an application to maintain a free-roaming cat colony at Victory Landing Park. We received from the Superintendent of Animal Welfare, Wayne Gilbert, a denial letter. Honestly, I was shocked. Here the Superintendent of Animal welfare, responded with an answer that never took the cats welfare into consideration. In fact, he has helped in โ€œtryingโ€ to seal their deadly fate. This should enrage all animal tax payers! Therefore, our goal is to present a unified awareness to city council. The killing of fixed feral cats go completely against the message of TNR. We want the cats to outlive their lives where they have lived their whole life and the park has known about their existence. We want to present facts as to why and touch their animal side (I am sure some of the city council members have family animals โ€“ sometimes if you put people in the same shoes, we can hopefully sway them. I am sure not all tax paying citizens that have a say so not only donโ€™t know what the city is planning for these animals. In addition, anyone dealing with colonies, knows once you remove a colony, other unfixed cats will take over. What would be their plan? And how/who makes these types of decisions that tax payers are paying for. I ask that you please consider helping us to be a united voice for animals that deserve to live out their life and no be killed just because someone doesnโ€™t care for them on Jan 14th. Please let me know if you are interested or need more details. And please pass the word, we really need numbers. Thank you.
