Hi! My name is Dulce Espinoza-Goode, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee, supervised by a licensed clinician at Nexus Youth & Family Services. Helping others is my passion. Before entering the Masters of Counseling Psychology Program at William Jessup University, I worked alongside counselors at several high schools as a Mental Health Specialist on the Suicide Prevention Team. I believe in helping others and meeting them where they are, whether you are overwhelmed, have lost a loved one, have issues in your family, or past trauma. I believe each person is unique; therefore, my approach may look different for each individual to allow their needs to be first and for myself to be present. Nevertheless, my goal remains the same - to provide a safe place that allows each individual to feel comfortable, to be seen, to be heard, and to express themselves. I am so happy to be on the Nexus Youth and Family Services Team where I work alongside people who share the same passion as I do. During my free time, I study for school, spend time with family and friends, and get outdoors to try new things. Fun Fact: I played soccer for 21 years and had the opportunity to play alongside Brandi Chastain in 2015 - Childhood Legend and it is one of my favorite memories.

Amador CASA

Amador CASA

Naomi runs the Independent Living Program (ILP) at Nexus, also Amador CASA's parent organization. Naomi spent her whole childhood in the foster care system. She had a number of people who built her up in the community and help direct her path. One of those people included a CASA. CASA programs support those in foster care well past the age of 18 in the extended foster care program. It doesn't take much to make a difference in someone's life.

I am Fara Roberts, I am the Program Manager for the Amador and Calaveras CASA programs.

Court Appointed Special Advocates trains volunteers to work with children who have been abused and/or neglected and are facing a case in the court system.

I learned of this program when I was in my early years of college and thought it was an interesting combination of working with children and the law. What I found was an organization that truly helped make changes in children’s lives and the adults who were by their side. I have worked for 2 other programs in other counties.

Six years ago, myself and another friend, sought out to start a CASA program to serve Calaveras County, where I’ve called home since a child. Calaveras did not have a program yet. CASA of Calaveras successfully opened its doors in 2017 in partnership with Amador CASA. I am happy to lead such a dynamic program, like CASA, but I could not do it without the support of a number of dedicated volunteers.

Hi, my name is Katie Rodriguez and I have the wonderful privilege of being a Youth Advocate, and an Outreach Specialist for Nexus Youth & Family Services. As an Outreach Specialist, I run 6 active chapters of FNL in Amador County. FNL is a youth leadership program that builds partnerships for positive and healthy youth development. FNL activities include drug and alcohol prevention, problem gambling awareness, teen tobacco use, and traffic safety. As a Youth Advocate I work with youth giving them support, guidance and offering them help with leadership skills. I am currently attending college in pursuit of my Associate’s Degree in Social and Behavioral Science, expecting to graduate summer of 2021. I am also a foster parent, and I am currently fostering my niece with hopes of adopting her. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family which consists of my fiancé, 2 children, and my niece. We love being outdoors and spending time exploring!

My name is Naomi and I’m a Program Coordinator at Nexus Youth and Family Services. I work as a youth advocate mentoring individuals and groups of youth. Before devoting my work full time with Nexus, I previously lived in the bay area and volunteered with the Contra Costa Independent Living Skills program for foster youth. I am very passionate about the work that I do because I grew up in foster care and now, I get to be the person I didn’t have in my life. My goal is to work closely with the youth to encourage them to move forward, problem solve, and make healthy choices no matter what their circumstances. In my spare time, I enjoy riding dirt bikes and being in nature.

My name is Stephen Hartmann and I have worked with Nexus Youth & Family Services for over two years. I have spent most of my adult life working with youth in various capacities. I am a Bay Area transplant that has lived in Amador County for over 20 years. My role as Youth Advocate and Prevention Specialist allows me to educate the youth of Amador County in the classroom on a variety of topics, while mentoring and building relationships in a one on one setting through our advocacy program. I thoroughly enjoy building relationships with the youth and helping them to not just see their potential but reaching it as well. Success isn’t going from A to Z at a high rate of speed, rather it’s taking one step at a time in a positive direction that ensures growth for the long run.

My name is Brenna Kantner and I am the Therapeutic Services Coordinator at Nexus Youth & Family Services. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist; I have my degrees in Child Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Counseling Psychology. People come to therapy for a variety of reasons - regardless of the reason, my goal is to walk through the journey with those I’m working with. Whether it be navigating relationship difficulties, trauma, anxiety, depression, or grief and loss, my goal as a therapist is to help people grow and learn to navigate life's challenges. I believe that people have the strength and courage to make the changes needed to reach their goals. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults who have been victims of early childhood trauma. I grew up in Amador County, attending Community Christian School, Jackson Junior High, and Amador High School. I moved to Sacramento for college and settled in Folsom for ten years before deciding to move HOME! I have spent my career working with children and their families; it’s truly where my heart is and I’m so happy to be in a position at Nexus where I can support the families in the community where I grew up and that I love so much. In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family; I enjoy hiking, kayaking, swimming, camping, skiing, and snowshoeing. The mountains are my favorite place to be. Put me outside in nature and I am happy!

My name is Nadine Magana. I am a program manager for Nexus Youth & Family Services. I am bilingual and have worked with Nexus to serve Amador County youth and families for almost 6 years. I grew up traveling from place to place through most of my childhood due to my father’s career. Traveling to different parts of the country exposed me to a diverse population of people and gave me the ability to adapt quickly. I believe this childhood experience has helped me develop problem solving skills and the ability to relate to people from all walks of life. I have lived in Amador County for many years, graduating from Amador High School in 1992. I worked in retail management for 17 years and sustained an injury that left me looking for another line of work. I returned to school to pursue a degree in Human Services and graduated the same year as my oldest daughter. Utilizing my life experiences and education, I am successfully able to manage a great staff of individuals and implement programs that enhance the well being of youth and families in Amador County. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. I am a wife and mother of 5 kids and a grandma to several fur babies. Every Sunday, I cook breakfast and we all get together to celebrate family. This has been a fun tradition to ensure supporting each other and keeping in touch as my kids grow up and move on. For self-care, I enjoy solving mysteries along with my favorite crime programs; it’s always exciting to see if my hunch is correct regarding the mystery of the hour.

Hello, my name is Willie Molin. I was born and raised in Amador County. I graduated from Argonaut High school in 1993. After high school, I went on to Delta Junior college for a year and then transferred to Sierra Junior College for another year. I then started a career in the Department of Corrections as a correctional officer for 18 ½ years. I was medically retired from the department and then found myself looking for a new start. I have an amazing family consisting of 3 boys and a daughter. My wife of 24 years and I have always been involved with our kids from camping, fishing and playing sports. I have coached all of my kids from soccer, football, baseball and basketball. I’m currently one of the boys’ basketball coaches at Argonaut high for the last 9 years. Through coaching I realized that I have a great passion for our youth and I love being a part of each one helping them grow up to be great young men. I have been a Youth Advocate for Nexus Youth and Family Services for the last 2 years and it has been the best time of my life.
