So, as you've all seen from my photos posted lately, I spent a week in Marianna, FL diving. What you haven't yet seen are the photos I've shot of the destruction from Hurricane Michael. Here's a montage I just posted to YouTube - my first FSS Photography YouTube post.

Marianna & Jackson County suffered badly! Please help them rebuild. Donate to the relief efforts at www.jacorelief.org.

And, please share this with as many folks as you can. Thank you.

Team members Mo Hafez and Frank Stopa were fortunate to be able to tour this incredible ocean-going icon back in December 2015.

Back in December 2015 as part of a team from Discovery Deep, I had the pleasure of touring the immense SS United States as she sat, and still sits, at berth in Philadelphia on the Delaware River in the charge of the SS United States Conservancy. The United States Lines built the SS United States during 1950-51 at a cost of $79.4 million. [ 298 more words ]

The Ocean Agency

Very interesting story. We’d like to see how for this goes. In a small way, team members participated in sample collections for University of Salford International a few years back as this technique was being developed.

Great news for your #SharkSunday

We’ve been quiet for a while now, but that’ll change very soon as team members Frank Stopa and Matthew Lerp head to Cave Country in North Florida for 10 days of cave diving. Additionally, our VR wizard Mo Hafez will be outfitting us with a 360 degree video camera with which we will record some of our dives. More VR will be under development soon!

This is an excellent article on ocean acidification. And just as importantly, it discusses the topic in terms of practicalities. If you enjoy shellfish, read this!

Fascinating look at how the nation's largest oyster producer for the past 5 decades, Taylor Shellfish, has taken on the challenge of solving climate change and ocean acidification. This is a long read but a very important one. #NoBlueNoGreen
