Lighthouse Quilt Guild

Lighthouse Quilt Guild Join us every 2nd Monday of the Month at the United Church of the Dunes in Grand Haven, Michigan. Our Social Time begins at 6:30 and our Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.
(2)

The LQG meets the 2nd Monday of every month at the United Methodist Church of the Dunes in Grand Haven, MI. Our guild has blossomed into an eclectic group that ranges from traditional to experimental ... from piecing commercial patterns to bringing our own designs to life ... from quilting as personal therapy to making quilts to heal others. Our common thread is the desire to come together to learn and grown in quilting and fiber arts. We bring in top name instructors and teach each other. We hold working meetings for charity and occasionally break bread together. We show off the fruits of our labors, and support each other toward turning our UnFinished Objects into show pieces. In fact, our annual quilt show draws in visitors from all corners to our beautiful resort community.

WORDS OF WISDOM ON GETTING THROUGH EACH DAY
FROM ELIZABETH AND WHAT SHE DOES.

I talk on the phone a lot with local friends and my old pals around the country. It helps. I have a 4-point program
for fighting this crisis: 1) Get outside for a walk or just some fresh air; 2) Bake something not only for the
product, but also for the fragrance; 3) Have long talks with friends; and 4) Get out of your bra [in the 60's we
burned them] and feel free.

Anyone else have any tidbits to add, please let us know so we can post.

I have 2 fairly large pieces of good quality fabric left over from pillows made for me. I do not sew and do not want to just throw it away. Any one interested. One is khaki and the other is a burnt orange color. I wouldbe glad to do a porch drop off.
Does anyone have a good face mask pattern? I need one without elastic, with ties. There at so many patterns so wondering which ones you like most!
Hello everyone. I do not quilt or sew, but I am looking for some help from people who do! My mom was an excellent seamstress, but unfortunately, she passed away last month and left an extensive collection of fabric, sewing supplies, and a very nice sewing machine and serger. I would like to see these items go to someone who could make good use of them, as well as ensure that my dad gets a fair price for the machines. I really have no clue about where I should advertise these items, so if anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much!
https://www.facebook.com/events/2386957974700706/?ti=ia Coopersville Farm Museum would like to invite members of the Lighthouse Quilt Guild to share their quilts in the upcoming exhibit of “Quilts and Their Stories”. Greetings! I am working up product for quilt shows that I am vending at... for hookers I sell the wool by 1/2, 1/4, & 1/8 yards. But thinking that it would be fun to do some colored bundles or packets for the appliqué's - wondering what sizes of fabric, numbers of pieces so number of colors in a group? was thinking smaller pieces about 8" x 10" and groups of 5? and the cost of hand dyed wool is $28 a half yard - so ... any advice and guidance from you all would be greatly appreciated. In the dye pots today gearing up for Spring shows! Let me know if you want to come visit "The Corner" going to be there today from 2:00 - 6:00. Chris
found it -
a few months ago some showed a quilt in "Show & Tell" that was a... month or year photo baby quilt - one to take pictures of the baby on? I think - I don't have time to go thru all of the pictures and was hoping someone would know but also forgot to ask last night! Help!! Please and Thank you!!!

Please email Wendy at [email protected] for more information.
Last week was a very sad week... my very old and special sewing machine died. It was older than . . . but it was the best and would sew through anything. The reason I am telling you all this is I am looking for a new workhorse machine. Can't pay a lot but if you have an old machine you don't know what to do with I would be happy to see if it would work. Please give me a call. 616-566-1144.
Several people who have featherweights have asked where I got mine repaired. John Mazurek in Muskegon cleaned and repaired mine in 24 hours and charged me $50. I highly recommend him. His contact information is below, I am not affiliated with him, just a happy quilter.
Thank you Ladies, my mom and my sister both got beautiful quilts this week. ❤️
sorry i can't make it monday - my foot dr appt was changed to 1/p on that day.
