Hi, I am a father that is dealing with my kids being kept from me and my friend told me to reach out to this group for possible assist and/or knowledge. thanks in advance
Just spent the past 2 hours trying to console my 8 year old son on his Fathers consistent absence in his life!!!😭 The things he said through tears were heartbreaking. Does anyone have age appropriate suggestions to let him know that he’s not alone and/or to gain a better perspective on understanding that the reason his father has ‘chosen’ to be absent has nothing to do with anything he did?
Help
Help, I have a coworker who needs assistant. He lives in Bucks County PA and he has been back and forth all the Doylestown and the surrounding counties trying to get help. His sons mother has been hospitalized for self hurting and is making ominous threats towards their son.He cannot get anyone to serve her papers and can't get a court date until 8.13.19. He has spent the last week and half trying to get help to get custody of his son and a protection of abuse served on behalf of son to his ex. and all he is doing is hitting brick walls. If you know who he can contact please respond.
I would like to share my story with this page. I hope that others can provide me support and guidance. https://www.facebook.com/bringtuckersboyshome/
“Purple Turtles” – Kayleigh’s Voice There are many resources to help combat sexual assault. One of those resources is an individual’s voice. This is a children's book tracing the story of a dynamic Sea Turtle, living and laughing in the sea, who was attacked, turning her beautiful brown shell purple. Though feeling very alone by the experience, she survived, and in time, empowered herself through the waves to return to the beach of her birth. This is the story of the courage to speak and the power to use one’s voice, no matter how long it takes. Certainly not as rare as some may think, Purple Turtles are incredible creatures, crossing the oceans with their grace and changing lives as they share their stories. Although a difficult subject, this book is couched for children, in the personification of a happy Sea Turtle who is harmed, yet becomes stronger in the recovery from the harm. This book is dedicated to my daughter, Kayleigh Mooney and her unstoppable voice and her love of Sea Turtles. Proceeds from sales from this book (and “Clemy’s Pancake House,” which she and I wrote when she was five) are intended to fund a scholarship, partly or in whole, in Kayleigh’s courageous name, or will be used in another sacred manner to benefit Kayleigh’s mission to empower other girls. As such, my little girl has given me permission to share her story and share the strength of her voice. At 14, Kayleigh was tragically assaulted, reported immediately, prosecuted, held her assailants accountable before the court, processed through the pain, and in the ultimate and deliberate exhibit of freedom and empowerment, forgave her assailants. She never stopped living – incredibly, a happy girl, she lived even more joyfully and fiercely – the assault never defined her as she confronted its suffering, took on the world and became a legend. Kayleigh, though scared, found true courage, not in the absence of fear, but in walking forward in spite of that fear. She is a warrior. Nearly a year later, on August 17, 2017 at 15, in a completely unrelated event in her profound and happy life, Kayleigh was accidentally struck by a car in a clearly innocent moment as she tried to cross a dangerous, dark street – neither she nor the driver saw the other. She took her last breath in the comfort and safety of my loving arms in the street, listening to my voice telling her "I love you," knowing I was holding her, and thankfully, feeling no pain and having no idea she had been struck. Together, our courage blossoms as I daily reconcile the unimaginable grief of her physical death and grow with her in her brilliant, current spiritual life. With endless love, Babygirl, your Daddy is so proud of you… (Purple Turtles): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0578449765?pf_rd_p=1cac67ce-697a-47be-b2f5-9ae91aab54f2&pf_rd_r=J69MGGZEN16F4AH4KJXK (Clemy’s Pancake House): https://www.amazon.com/Clemys-Pancake-House-Kevin-Mooney/dp/0615344224/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=clemy%27s+pancake&qid=1553964114&s=books&sr=1-1-fkmrnull Also See our page, “Purple Turtles – Kayleigh’s Voice” - special thanks to 6 of Kayleigh's friends who helped with illustrations.
