Good news! Haiti has been able to re-open their ports, which means gifts can be shipped to Haiti for Christmas! If you would like to send a gift to your sponsor child please send it to 23 Grey Pebble Ct. Germantown, MD 20874 no later than October 1! We know it seems early to prepare for Christmas, but as you can see from the photos it takes a lot of barrels to ship our gifts. These barrels then take the long journey via cargo ship to get to Haiti where our awesome team picks them up in Port-au-Prince to drive to Montrouis. By this time it’s already December!

You also have the option of purchasing a backpack through our website and we will do the shopping for you!

You can also check out our website for other gift ideas. Rice, beans, goats, beds, bikes, chickens, and more can be purchased in Haiti and are always an appreciated gift!

Thank you for shopping early and giving the gift of Christmas to our Haitian brothers and sisters!

Wow! In just one month we added another three sponsors, which means we are just TWO sponsors away from our goal for 2020! We are so grateful for your support.

The school year is starting soon. Please consider if you can help one of our students start the year off with a sponsorship. For $40 a month you can provide education, medical care, a hot meal every day, and hope for a bright future to our students in Haiti.

If you have been thinking about sponsoring let us know or check out our website! We would love to get you started!

**Mid-Year Update**

It may be the peak of summer, but at LCM we are always thinking about school. You should have recently received your suggested donation for annual student sponsorship. We remain incredible grateful to all of our sponsors for making every school year happen through your financial support of our students. It is your loyalty and commitment to LCM that keeps us going. Please know that everyday you sponsor you are making a difference in this world!

If you all remember our goal this year was to get 20 sponsors in 2020. Well, we are happy to report that we are over half way there! Since the start of the year 15 students have been told they have a sponsor in the U.S! We would like to give a warm welcome and shoutout to the Wahl Family, Chen Family, O'Connell Family, Snider Family, and McEnerney Family for helping us have such a great start to this goal!

We have six more months to find five more sponsors and achieve our goal of 20 sponsors in 2020. Please continue to spread the word and encourage others to join in our mission!

Happy Sunday to all! Today we would like to share a story with you that was recently sent to us:

“I wanted to share with you about Our Faith Baptist Church in Denver, CO. This is my aunt and uncles's church, Luther and Jennie Whatley. They used to feed the homeless breakfast every Sunday morning, before Covid hit. What I'd like you to know is that my uncle takes up an offering, in the red coffee container, from those there to eat. That money is sent to your mission in Haiti. Note the arrow on the sign. They're homeless, so they don’t give much, but they do give!” - Lillie Golson

Lillie, thank you so much for sharing this with us. What an amazing example of kindness and generosity, and our mission is truly blessed by their donations!

A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great. – Proverbs 18:16

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend Marckline. Born with osteogenesis imperfecta (better known as brittle bone disease), Marckline’s life in Haiti was not an easy one. She was dependent on others to get around and to help her with daily activities. However, her struggles did not prevent her from being a light at the mission. She often shared the amazing gift of her voice with mission groups and in the school Christmas show as well as church services. Marckline also spoke beautiful English, making it easy for missionaries to befriend her. Our groups would often gravitate towards her. She had an inviting smile and never tired of questions about life in Haiti. We will miss her beautiful soul and wonderful spirit, but take comfort knowing that she has gone to sing with the angels in Heaven.

We would like to support Marckline’s family during this time with our prayers and by donating to the cost of funeral arrangements. If you have the ability to donate at this time we would greatly appreciate it.

If you have a memory or photo of Marckline you would like to share we invite you to post it below or message us.

We have masks! Our staff has been hard at work sewing over 500 masks for our students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. With your continued support of the mission, we hope to keep this project going in order to protect as many people as possible. As always, we hope you are staying safe, and we are keeping you in our prayers. Have a blessed Sunday! #lcm #lifeconnectionmission #helpingHaiti #covid19 #makingmasks #supportLCM

This photo was taken during the last mission trip to Haiti in February. I remember laughing to myself when I took it and thinking “kids are kids no matter where they are in the world.” Just before this was taken the lunch bell had rung and there was a mad dash for the door as our fourth grade students hurried off to the lunchroom to enjoy a meal and then free time with friends during recess. It made my heart happy to see the English writing on the chalkboard and the nice quality of the backpacks left to rest on the desks. The students of our school have so much joy and opportunity because of Life Connection Mission.

We know times are tough right now for everyone. Which is why Life Connection is so incredibly grateful and thankful for your continued support. Whether it’s through sponsorship, donations to our feeding programs, or simply telling your friends about our mission and work in Haiti - YOU are the life of the mission. It is because of your support that we continue to be able to do what we do.

Thank you and God bless you. We will continue to keep you in our prayers, and we hope you will say a little prayer for our friends in Haiti as well. May God continue to bless us all during these uncertain times.

Life Connection Mission is praying for our friends all over the world as we continue to battle coronavirus. Today we wanted to share a video that will hopefully bring a smile to your face during these uncertain times. Our students have been learning to play the recorder in music class thanks to an awesome donation. Do you recognize the song?

Do you enjoy seeing our mission posts? Have you thought about sponsoring but you are worried about the commitment? We want YOU to get involved! This is Anex and he just celebrated his 20th birthday and is in the 13th grade. He would LOVE for you to sponsor him! With only one year left of school your commitment to him would be short. So why not try out sponsoring for a year? You know you’ve been thinking about it! The cost of about one less meal out each month covers his education, medical care, and a hot meal each day. We made it safely to Haiti and hit the ground ready to work! We spent the afternoon pumping up soccer balls and sorting the donated Christmas gifts to hand out to our students tomorrow. Safety is our number one priority when groups go down to Haiti, so because of the unrest this past December we unfortunately had to postpone our Christmas trip. While it may be late this year, Christmas has arrived in Haiti! #lcm #lifeconnectionmission #christmasinfebruary #santaselves #helpingHaiti #backpacksforChristmas @ Montrouis

Today we remember the 10th anniversary of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti, killing an estimated 300,000 people and leaving a million people without homes. We ask that you pray for Haiti today and keep the people of Haiti in your thoughts. We are so greatful for our continued work in Haiti and that we get to appreciate all of the beauty it has!

How to pray for our Haitian brothers and sisters…
· Pray and ask God to save the Haitian people. Pray for them to have a vibrant and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior! John 6:29
· Pray for healing to those who are broken in body and or in spirit. Psalm 34:18
· Pray for God to bring Peace among the people and prevent violence, riots, and more crime. Psalm 34:14
· Pray for refuge for those who are homeless, have no clothes and nothing to eat. Psalm 82:3
· Pray for the local government to lead selflessly and efficiently. Philippians 2:4
· Pray for the nations of the world to be moved with compassion and desire to serve the poor. Isaiah 58
· Pray that survivors of recent natural disasters would not lose hope but would look to God for faith, understanding, hope and love. Psalm 20:7-8

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mission cook, Marjorie. If you have ever stayed at LCM’s mission house, then you have been lucky enough to know this wonderful woman. She worked tirelessly for the mission, often cooking for hours so that we could feed hot meals to the children of Montrouis. She then cooked a little more to make sure that we, the missionaries, always started and ended each day with a wonderful meal. She truly was a servant of God and she will be greatly missed.

It is our hope that we can pay for the funeral arrangements and give some support to Marjorie’s family. If you can, please consider making a donation - the estimated cost of funeral needs are about $2000. Any contribution helps! In addition, we invite you to share a memory of Marjorie. She touched so many lives!

Together with our Haitian partners, we are helping to meet critical needs every day. Since our founding, Life Connection Mission has helped meet the many needs in Montrouis by: • Giving thousands of children an education and feeding them every day at the mission school, the Institution Educative D’Excellence de Montrouis. • Constructing more than 30 homes in the community for families in need. • Constructing a clean, safe, and professional medical clinic. • Holding hundreds of medical clinics and hosting dozens of surgical teams. • Flying multiple patients to the U.S. for more invasive surgeries. • Delivering tons of rice, beans, and other food to hungry families. • Constructing public restrooms and showers for the community to use. • Distributing tons of clothes, shoes, hygiene products, and toys. • Quickly helping those in fear and need as a result of natural disasters. • Digging wells to provide the community with clean water. • Distributing mosquito nets to help prevent the spread of malaria. • Hosting various training programs for adults. • Providing supplies, medical care, and other assistance to local orphanages. In all, Life Connection Mission has worked hard to help restore hope for a better future in Haiti.
