Today is disappearance of Shyamananda Pandit.

Shyamananda Pandit (Dukhi) was born in Darendra Bahadurpur, Orissa. All his brothers and sisters died in infancy, so his parents named him Dukhi. When he was a teenager Dukhi decided to take initiation from Hridoy Chaitanya, who lived in Ambika Kalna, Bengal.

Hridoy Chaitanya was a disciple of Gauridas Pandit who was one of MahaPrabhu’s closest associates.

Dukhi travelled all the way to Ambika Kalna and surrendered to Hridoy Chaitanya, being very pleased by his sweet words, he named him Krishna das. After initiating him in an auspicious time, Krishna das served his spiritual master very diligently. Pleased with his bhakti, determination and intelligence, Hridoy Chaitanya instructed him to go to Vrindavan to seek guidance of Srila Jiva Goswami.

Today is the appearance day of Gangamata Goswamini.

Sachi devi was born in the year 1601 AD, she was the only child of King Naresh Narayan. Right from her childhood she exhibited symptoms of intense devotion. She always remained immersed in the service of her beloved Madan Gopal. Noticing her different mood, King Naresh Narayana decided to arrange for her marriage, but she protested that she doesn’t want to get married to someone who was destined to suffer disease and death. In other words, she didn’t want to get married to any human being since her heart was stolen by beloved Krishna.
After her parents, King Naresh Narayan and his wife passed away, Sachi devi left her palace & went for an extensive pilgrimage. She first went to Jaganatha Puri spent some time there, then went to Vrindavan where she met her spiritual master.

Jivadaya team participated in Thrive Vegan Marketplace. It was a vegan festival and was attended by about 800 people. Our vegan hotdogs (famously known as yogi dogs) and Vegan Samosa were a hit with the attendees. Attendees were very interested in our books about yoga and meditation. We distributed lots of books and met some wonderful people.
