REWARD OFFERED: This is "GOOSE", a young male hound that was found in a culvert pipe on a long stretch of dirt road in Terrell County. He was found by a young couple who was just strolling by in the late evening on Friday afternoon . If a slight movement by Goose had gone unnoticed by the couple, he would have perished all alone in that pipe. We believe that he was hiding in that pipe to protect himself from coyotes and wild hogs. Animal Control responded to an injured dog but upon arrival it was evident he had been shot in the right front leg. By this time it was almost 8:00 at night, he was then transported to Oakland Veterinary Hospital. Immediately the kind and loving Dr. Lee and his wife Bobbie were there to care for him. His leg had to be immediately amputated due to infection and the seriousness of the injury.
Xrays revealed that the injury was from birdshot at a close range of 3'-4' away. How could a person do this to an animal? This was an act of deliberate hate and cruelty upon the most humble little hound dog who has miraculously survived. He was so starved but is now eating and hopefully will recover. But, this is the best part of his story, he is gentle and enjoys being touched, how he can still trust humans is amazing but he does.
A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person who did this. Also, the medical bills are going to be expensive and any donations towards his care will be so appreciated. But most importantly, help us find the person who did this and let them face their peers.
To make donations, please call Oakland Veterinary Hospital at 229-431-9501 and ask for Bobbie or Sarah. Thank you!

Hello my friend and her little girl evacuated for the hurricane recently They had their bird and cat with them. Unfortunately the kitty got away in your county as they got out to fix a flat tire and they're very upset. It was near the Circle K and ran through a busted fence in to a briar patch. They have flyers posted up there but I wanted to reach out to you in case he was brought in to you. We live in Fort Myers Fl. He's very friendly so someone may have him or he could be hiding as it was a stressful time for them. Please contact me if anyone finds him so they can drive up and get him. Here is a pic of him. If you have any suggestions on any other pages to post on please let me know. Thank you!
A little humor for your Monday morning.
