You can also heat items individually and let girls mix up their own. This is also a great way to use left over pasta from dinner the night before, just store it in a bag over night in the cooler or fridge.

7 First Aid / AED / CPR clases have been added to gsEvents. Does a date and time work for you?

You are welcome to take the class with us, or with any approved provider in your community. Be sure to ask if the cards issued come from:

• American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI)
• American Heart Association (AHA)
• American Red Cross
• National Safety Council
• Medic First Aid
• Emergency Care & Safety Institute
• EMS Safety Services

NOTE: Blended learning classes are fine, however, First Aid/CPR/AED training that is available entirely online does not satisfy Girl Scout requirements because such courses do not offer enough opportunities to practice and receive feedback on techniques. Beware of any vendors who do a 4-hour class in less than 1 hour entirely online. These certifications are not from the approved list of certifying organizations and are not accepted.

A safe space is where girls feel they can be themselves, without explanation or judgment. As a volunteer, you create an environment that is just as important as the activities girls do; it’s the key to developing the sort of group that girls want to be part of! Cultivate a space where confidentiality is respected and girls can express their true selves.

Recognizing and Supporting Each Girl is Important! 💚💚

You're a role model and a mentor to your girls. Since you play an important role in their lives, they need to know that you consider each of them an important person too. They can weather a poor meeting place or an activity that flops, but they cannot endure being ignored or rejected.

Give a shout-out when you see girls trying their best, not just when they’ve had a clear success.
Emphasize the positive qualities that make each girl worthy and unique.
Be generous with praise and stingy with rebuke.
Help your girls find ways to show acceptance of and support for one another.

Register here! Note this is not a council-sponsored event.
It is held on a school holiday, hence the reason it is noted as a Monday.

They are also offering it as a patch bag which you can pick up and then do with your troop.

It's Mindfulness Monday! I just beat the rain to record today's video, but wherever you are in Northeast Texas, after the rain passes, get outdoors and take 10 deep breaths. Doing this can help to reduce stress and anxiety. Plus, the air after a rain is so fresh! Would you try this breathing technique with your Girl Scouts?
Where are the links for Gold Award training?
It’s Mindfulness Monday! When feeling anxious or overwhelmed it can be helpful to ground yourself in the present moment. Here is a simple technique that you can use anytime, 5-4-3-2-1.
Are there any Silver Award trainings coming up? I was looking through past events but could not find one for Silver in the past year.
I need some help. I want to go ahead and recertify my camping on the go even though it expires Dec 21. This will get me through graduation!!! I tried to take it on MyGS, but it said I needed the first camping course. I took that a long time ago and have never let my on the go camping course expire. I also didn't see it as an option in eBiz. Help?
Good morning.. hopefully it is okay that I post this here. Our two troops created ornaments for a tree at the Irving Arts Center.. and could use your votes! Click on the link and like the actual tree :) Thanks! (feel free to share too!!) https://www.facebook.com/IrvingArts/photos/pcb.10159004947053156/10159004911138156
Vignette 3: Build a Self-Care Toolkit (my favorite thing to do!) What is your #1 go-to remedy when stress has you tightly wound? Essential oils on my feet, wrists, ears, and throat are my #1 DAILY go-to remedy. Do you use them, too? Which ones? What else do you use? ***This is Vignette 3 of 6 from the Self Care event on the Learning Channel. Tune in tomorrow for Vignette 4: The Mental Game.***
Reminder - daily resources and updates are being added to gsnetx.org/covid. These include how to structure a virtual troop, at-home activities - and details on what's coming. Look for an email to all parents and troop leaders this afternoon with more details.
We're working together with our cities, counties, and school district officials to keep our families healthy. In an effort to support these recommendations and do our part to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, GSNETX is cancelling and rescheduling several events, activities and trainings scheduled through Sunday, March 23. We will continue to seek guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers For Disease Control (CDC), and local public health officials to ensure the health and safety of our members. For the latest information, including details on troop and service unit activities, please visit https://bit.ly/2TOGwBJ Thank you so much for all that you do in Girl Scouting.
How do you transfer cookies from one girl to another in ebuddy?
A couple of friends and I have taken over a troop that we're looking to grow. Unfortunately, our girls didn't get to experience the full Cookie Sale business so we're working on ways to earn funds for our troop. One fairly simple way is to begin charging dues, we're just curious to know what other troops charge. How much? How often? I'd like to charge $20/month per girl. Is this too much or too little?
Did you know there's still time to take part in this quintessential Girl Scout experience? Download this step-by-step guide to learn more: http://bit.ly/3b32vv0 💚🍪💚
