Love your neighbor by masking up | Scrubbing In

Continuing to mask up is an easy, inexpensive and beautiful opportunity to love one another by being compassionate to those we are close to and those who are strangers.

"Everyone who is in need for some neighborliness, or some kindness and compassion. They are my neighbors."

I briefly walked into the hospital without a mask on the other day. The kind and attentive Guest Relations employee at the information desk got my attention, pointed at her mask and held up a clean mask for me to put on. My mind was somewhere else, and I had simply forgotten to mask up. … Love you...

Following the FDA and CDC’s reinstatement of the J&J vaccine, our vaccination sites will again offer this option as supply allows. This short pause in distribution was out of extreme caution to give experts time to review data on the small group of people who reported a rare, severe type of blood clot. Please know, this rare side effect has occurred in only 15 reported cases out of more than 8 million doses administered.

While the FDA and CDC reaffirmed the vaccine’s safety, women under 50 should know that there are other vaccine options available. Learn more here: https://bit.ly/3aN4vsU

Talk to your doctor about any safety concerns, but rest assured — the benefits of the vaccine far outweigh this small risk.

How telehealth is helping veteran families connect and cope with stress | Scrubbing In

Even before the telehealth boom caused by the pandemic, the Warriors Research Institute was harnessing its power to help address mental health concerns for first responders, military veterans and their families across the state.

This year, we experience holidays like Easter and Passover with a renewed hope for what lies ahead. We have hope for our patients, colleagues and loved ones as they roll up their sleeves to get a COVID-19 vaccine. We have hope for our friends and family as we look ahead to an eventual return to “normalcy.” And we have hope for our communities as we work together to address persistent inequities.

May these next few days provide you with a chance for reflection about the promise of renewal and hope for what is yet to come.

03/31/2021

On March 31, we will begin welcoming additional visitors for patients receiving care for conditions other than COVID-19. The number of visitors may vary depending on the facility or unit as our teams maintain COVID-19 safety precautions. In line with CDC guidance, we ask that only those essential for each patient’s physical or emotional well-being and care visit at this time.

Upon entry, visitors will be asked to wear a mask and pass a screening and temperature check. For the safety of all, we are continuing to limit visitors for patients who are confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19.

We know loved ones are an important part of the healing process and look forward to safely welcoming additional visitors. If you have questions or concerns, please call the hospital or your doctor’s office directly. For more details: https://bit.ly/3sEZk5b

I would like to take a break from this challenging time and give you a gentle reminder to fill up and submit your 2020Census questionnaire sent to you by US Census Bureau. Your response will make our community better! Every one matters!!
Unbelievably bad care from Dr Tario Mallick, at the AUBREY location I went in for severe lower back pain and 2 days later nothing helps and I keep calling asking for something to help with the pain so I can at least get out of bed!!and they tell me to take a hot shower! I didn’t even get any relief while I was in the office. I spent $1,200.00 for zero care. Left a message for the manager to call me, I realize they have to be careful with pain meds, but this is horrible and I don’t abuse them. The last time I had anything resembling a narcotic was when I crashed cycling last October and broke my nose in 2 places and fractured my face!

Last October, my wife had a single visit to our family doctor at BSW Northside Temple. The clinic submitted double bills with different codes to Blue Cross, and said she owes two $30 copays. We have written, had two separate joint telephone conferences with BSW and Blue Cross, who says BSW is violating its contractual agreement. Yet, BSW will not fix it. They just sent another notice that says they will report the $30 to collections, while Blue Cross says do not pay it. What is wrong with BSW that they cannot bill correctly and then harass people for something they do not owe?
Please fill and submit your 2020census questionnaire sent by US Census Bureau in your mail! Your response can help our community get better!! Every count matters!!!
Baylor Scott and White is no longer accepting Humana Advantage Plans in it's rural hospitals. This doesn't sound like stronger together to me, but penalizes residents in rural Texas
So my wife is a caregiver for elderly people and she has symptoms that could be COVID-19 so we filled out the screening on the mybswhealth website and that took us to the evisit stuff. We filled out that information and got results. We kind of need the information that was included in those results for the testing for COVID-19, but we can't get back to them. We have called multiple times and keep getting sent to the evisit support but have to call dozens of times before I get something other than "the subscriber you called is not in service" and when I do get something else I end up on hold for 45 minutes before the line goes dead. This has been for more than a day of trying to get this information and have gotten nowhere. This is kind of a critical situation as the people my wife has cared for are definitely high risk and should know as soon as possible.
I did the online corvid 19 questionnaire today and got an e-mail saying it's ready for me to review but can not find out how to do that.
Thank you for listening to me today and treating me like a person!! The entire staff from the ER to CT were wonderful!
I'd suggest that BSW should look at the partnership with Dallas Morning News and Covid19. The paper suggests that they provide FREE to the public the latest information for public safety.... they do if you give them your email. Then they send subscription offers and coupons. This is not free. Finally, today the home page says in a headline "Your most frequently asked questions." But you can only see it by signing into an account. Is this what you are paying to help DFW be safe?
